I've been asked to apply for deputy headship...?

Any advice? I am really tempted as it's a fantastic opportunity in a school I'm incredibly passionate about. I already work there 2.5 of the week so would then be full time, continuing with my current role in the mornings and leadership role in the afternoons.
I do want to apply as I feel 'ready' but I am worried about the impact it will have on my children- one at primary, one at secondary- and whether or not the work/life balance will be overloaded. At the moment mornings only mean that I rarely take work home. My school is a really tough one and there is a new head teacher about to take over, so I don't know them yet- which could be a good or bad thing. Just going round in circles!
Any advice / thoughts appreciated x

It sounds like you might regret it if you didn't. If it proves unmanageable later you can downsize again. Not sure if that helps.

I'd be wary that you may end up doing DHT duties in the mornings too- effectively doing a full-time DHT role for 0.5 DHT pay.

Would it be possible/would you be willing to do the role full time?

I have thought about it a lot tonight and I think it's not the right time. As you say, the role will take priority over what I am doing now.
Thanks for your replies.
