Anyone here been a Phase Leader? (Primary)

Hello all,
I am due to begin a new job as a Phase Leader in a large Primary in the next few weeks. It's a UPS job with a decent TLR and the interview process was extremely rigorous, so I'm really pleased I got the job.
I was wondering if anyone else has this job title, and if so, what teaching commitment the job carried. Mine is 50% so I need to spend some time shadowing the current post-holder in order to find out more about the management side of the role.
Any advice would be welcomed, thanks!

Can't help I'm afraid as our phase leaders have 100% teaching commitment so I assume the role must be very different? Do you know what any of your management responsibilities are?

No, I don't yet. To be honest, the phase leader jobs I'd heard of previously all had 100% teaching commitment, as you've mentioned. According to the current post holder, this is more like a deputy role, which certainly explains the extensive interview process. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some proper handover work with him before I officially start. I'm so excited but quite nervous!

Good luck. You'll probably find you spend a lot of time on behaviour, monitoring planning, doing observations, developing teaching and learning and maybe line managing TAs and doing appraisal.
