Resignation

Am I right in thinking that I need to resign by Friday (break up for half term) to leave at Easter? Burgundy book says 28th Feb but I think that means you have to go back in the summer term, til 30th April?

That's the finish date. Colleagues leaving for Easter starts elsewhere are trying to negotiate out of coming back until 30th April. You could ask.

And 28th is the date for resignation. We say half term as it is then approximately.

If applying for non-teaching roles, do the same rules apply?
As obviously vacancies have start dates of all year round.
I'm furiously searching and applying, hoping that new Head (he starts after Easter) will release me early.

It's not about where you're going to, if you are a teacher wanting to resign, you have to stick to rules in the Burgundy book.
You can try negotiating with the head and the governors, but the LEA might say no (They did with me, years back)

Check your contract though - under an academy contract I have a calendar month (for me...or them...to give notice).
