Hi am after some guidance, have been short listed for role as pa to head and clerk to governors. I'm currently Senior Admin at a similarly sized primary have no problem with how to do the job and have pa experience from previous roles. My big problem is the power point. It's on things I'd do in first day weeks and months. Again loads of ideas but I can't make it make sense and I can't get my head around having to talk to do presentation. Any tips on how to get through this it's only for 10 mins but that seems like and age when I'm looking at the presentation. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Have you thought about starting your planning with a mind map? You could use it to organise your thoughts and see a coherent route through your presentation. Maybe you could include it in your PP to show you've thought it all through but just focus on the important bits as 10 minutes will go very quickly.
When creating your powerpoint make sure the slides give examples or emphasis to the issues you are discussing, rather than just duplicating what you are saying (seen many candidates for various roles fall into that trap).
Good Luck!

Suggest looking at slideshare - not saying plagiarise, but will give you some inspiration and ideas about organisation.

Thank you both that's really helped. Now I just have to get over my nerves of speaking in front of people. Lots of practice now needed.

I am a huge fan of PowerPoint, the more you play with it the better you get - but there are 'tutorials' on YouTube to help...you could also look at prezzi if you want to be very snazzy!!

I 'd suggest sticking to 3-5 slides, with just the key points on and then write yourself more of a script in the "notes" section (that doesn't get shown as part of the presentation)

There's nothing worse than a presentation that is actually someone reading the slides out to you...

Good luck!

I think I've done 7 but 2 are very much intro an end statement. I've gone for key words that I can fill in. Gonna run it through with hubby tonight and see how the words flow. I know what I want to say just need to get my confidence for public speaking. My current head has said he'll listen to me run it through.

Feel a bit sick but I would love the job so will do anything I can. Spending a whole half day doing activities and then interviews is a new one on me in a school.
