Risk assessment for stress

Tomorrow I will have a risk assessment for stress. This was recommended by oc health after an interview over 6 months ago. I have no idea what to expect. I suspect it will just be a pointless waste of my ppa.

Did anything cause your stress 6 months ago that is still going on now? Are there any steps work (or you) could take to reduce your stress levels?
Will probably ask you that sort of thing.

Repeated redundancies, they will continue but not being in the big hall for the meeting would be good.

Lots of new policies, a ridiculous amount of marking, slt changing their minds about things, very little notice to changes to time table and requirements, school timetabling yr 8 reports (4 classes) and parents evening the same week, new subjects to teach with very little support (I am secondary). This is just a few of the top of head. I can't see the school improving this.

I really hope it's useful. Haven't heard of if being done before. You need to be really clear about what it is that you feel causes you stress -everyday workload, marking, workload created by new initiatives, unreasonable deadlines that are too short to manage properly, behaviour, etc.

And incidentally, it shouldn't be happening in your PPA time, as presumably it's not planning, prep, or assessment (and if I effectively 'lost' my PPA it would cause me huge stress - rather defeating the object...).

Cross posts! Sorry.

That sounds awful Sad

I have lost 3 ppa sessions already this year. I only found out today which classes I will have on Friday.

My school is not good at supporting staff. Other staff have been refused a referal to occupation health. I will have a good think tonight.

You should not be losing PPA. You ought to ask for the time back. You are well within your rights to refuse to do it in this time.

I am on stress leave and due to return in about a week. Never heard of these before but I am planning on writing down everything that has contributed to my stress levels on my return, just in case. I am not good at re,acing my feelings or troubles verbally.
