How do you gain a TLR?

The current holder of the only TLR at my school has given it up for various reasons, which means it's going to be offered to the rest of the staff. I'd like to be considered for it in my role as English coordinator - but does anyone know how you apply? Is it a written application? What if more than one person expresses interest?
TIA

Your school should advertise it internally. You will prob need to submit a written application.

If nothing is up soon ask your hr lady to make sure you don't miss it.

It should be like an application for a normal job - it should be formally advertised internally (perhaps via a school wide email, including a job and person description), with clear instructions on how to apply. Normally this would be by letter, followed up with interviews of those candidates that merit it, before a final decision is made.

Wow - thanks for the speedy feedback! Interesting. We're a small school and I know for a fact nobody else wants it so fingers crossed. I could really do with the extra money...(yes I know it's not all about the money, but you know!)
