HLTA course

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I wondered whether there was a preferred training provider out there for becoming an HTLA. I'm mostly having to do the academics by distance learning and the school I volunteer with (via a charity) aren't that fussed about anyone extra pursuing a qualification as they can't offer any jobs. However, I'd like to formalise things.

ICS offer a NCFE course - but there doesn't seem to be a practical element to the course which seems odd.
UK Open College require 50hrs practical.
CACHE had an Award and a Certificate.

In short what will get me the bit of paper to either start the practical work to be a HTLA?
Also - I'm volunteering in a senior school (Math's support) - will primary schools disregard me?

TIA.

I'm not sure you can train as an HLTA as a volunteer, I think you need to have some experience of planning and leading your own sessions?
