How will my school becoming an academy affect me?

Our school is planning to become an academy in the very near future....we've been invited to a meeting with the LEA and other people, where we will get a chance to ask questions about our contracts, changes etc - but I'm not sure what I might need to know - are there any good questions I should ask? I've only ever worked in LEAs, so no idea what the implications are, and the school are being v positive, but that's because they want to be an academy, so are going to only mention the positives!
Any experience anyone?

I was at a school that was academised. I'm not now.
There was a wholesale sweep of all older, more expensive staff high up onm the scale within the first term. Horrible bullying, horrible atmosphere, cost-cutting and penny pinching. I hated it. I wish there had been more done to fight it.
My childrens primary has just been taken over and it's gone the same way. Half the staff are now cheap NQT's and the older experienced staff are leaving. Forced out.

Work at a primary school than became an academy. No change whatsoever for classroom staff, workloadof office staff tripled.

Work at a secondary who went academy in 2011. Very little change to staff treatment - no more or less people leaving arriving than normal years.

Our school still followed the Standard Pay and Conditions set by government until this September when they are no more anyway.

Creeping in after 3 years there does seem to be more expectations on teachers commitment and time but not sure if that would have happened anyway.

Lots more flexibility for burser to apply for grants for building work so had lots of improvements done.

My only concern is moving schools and the pay issue but guess with no Standard scale now its not such an issue.
