Support staff - which union?

I'm a science technician in a middle school and have been strongly encouraged again to join a union. Support staff in school are in GMB and Unison, the people doing the encouraging said there wasn't much difference between the two.

So other support staff in here, are you in a union? if so which one?

I'm a TA in a school and with GMB. All good with them although never needed to contact them I have faith that should I need to they would respond. Sorry not much help !
Oh and I pay just under £6 a month , quite cheap I though for what it covers .
