Early Years activities for Black History Month -Help!

Black History Month is coming up soon and I'm trying to get together some ideas for activities to do with three and four years olds.

TES usually has some helpful resources but I haven't seen anything on there, so far I have thought of... Reading a few Anansi stories at circle time, doing some African drumming with them, talking a bit about Martin Luther King and doing some sort of African themed crafts (haven't thought about what yet though!)

Any ideas? I'm finding it tricky to think of activities that will work with such young children!

Something based on Handa's Surprise?

Thanks saadia, I hadn't thought of Handa's Surprise, it might be a good way to get the children thinking/talking about Africa.

This is my first time covering Black History Month with such young children so it will most likely be a case of trial and error!

Why?
What will bathe children get out of it?
What will martin Luther king mean to them?
This is more for the adults benefit than the children's

Not quite sure I'm with you there insancerre.

I think it's important to introduce children to a range of cultures and traditions, Black History Month is an opportunity to do that.

Obviously I'm not going to launch into the ins and outs of slavery, the civil rights movement or the Jim Crow era, but I was planning on introducing them to Martin Luther King as a means of talking about not treating people differently because of the way they look etc.

I can assure you I am not doing this for my own benefit!
