A bit upset - just missed out on dream job

I had an interview today for a HOD role. There were four of us whittled down to two (myself and another candidate) after we taught the lesson.

I didn't get it.

I really, really wanted it - just need reassurance another amazing job with my name will come up soon, right!?

Out of interest could I be so rude as to ask how long you've been teaching and your subject? I dream of being HOD too but not ready yet. Have you held other posts in the past?

Not rude at all :) I've been teaching for ten years and got my first HOD post three years ago.

Sympathies from me OP. I had a similar situation this week. A job I really wanted came up but I messed up the interview. Still haven't heard but it must be a no. It was perfect for me in terms of location and hours.

Thanks :) I feel a bit better today. I'm sure I can manage something else for January which is when that job started (I need to relocate) it's just I loved the school, and coming so close is frustrating! xx

Really feel for you OP, I am currently still trying to get my dream job. I had an interview on Tuesday and will find out next week plus Have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow will be at least my eighth interview so feeling very despondent
