Hello everyone,

I have an interview at the end of this week with a reception class.

I have 15 minutes with the class and the theme is "teach to inspire"

Doing a bit of research now, but if anyone has any excellent ideas, send them my way :-)

Hi
This is an activity I have used at interview with speaking and listening as the objectives. I had a small suitcase, which I told the children I had found in the car park, with luggage tags from twinkl that made it looked like it belonged to QPootle5. I put hair gel on the zip so it was alien slime. Then I had an intergalactic passport for QPootle5 and his alien friend. We talked about who the bag might belong to, using the clues to help us. At the end of the lesson we opened the bag and found the things an alien might take on holiday.
Hope that is helpful. Good luck

That's a really nice idea. Suggest you find out what topic the class has been covering so that you can adapt it to fit in. Not all of my class would know about QPootle5 I'm afraid, although they could tell you any manner of information about zombies Sad

Am only thinking aloud, could you set up different tables with different info on them, eg different kings and queens pictures, different kings and queens wealth (money/jewels/crowns), different clothes (pictures/items), different laws written down simply.
Then in small groups they spend a short time at each pod learning, talking etc with guided questions.
Then come together as a class to act out the role of a king and queen - with help.
Ignore if too hard though Smile
Good luck
