Do you think your pay meets minimum wage?
I'm just starting the next round of marking contracts, and was looking at how much I'm going to get paid per script etc. Discussing it with DH when he points out that the time it takes me to mark the script and complete all the associated admin with it, I don't actually meet minimum wage. Just wondering whether I'm a particularly slow marker, or whether other people feel that they don't make minimum wage either?
Of course, I'll still continue marking - for professional development, it's priceless. However, the amount of hours I spend marking each summer, and the amount of money I make, somehow doesn't quite add up, particularly when you consider the level of qualifications and experience you need to become an examiner (I only mark A level standard work, so no flick and tick for me).
