At the moment a teacher and a job came out with more responsibilities...my major factor is that it is closer to my present job. Also, it offers more responsibilities and I feel I am ready for a change. Have been at my present school for 8 years. My priority my DC because I want to be there was when they do homework etc and feel additional responsibilities will mean I need to spend more time after school etc...on the other hand if nearly 40...so maybe the best time to apply for more responsibilities

I'm struggling to understand your OP. But from what I can understand your are weighing up a new school with additional responsibilities that will add workload with a school closer to home that will save the commute?

Only you can weigh up whether it is the right time in your family life. Check the job description to evaluate what the workload will be and compare it to your current one. Don't negate the impact of a new school, class, etc. on the amount of additional work you will need to do.
