If a job is advertised showing salary as

'Main scale plus TLR 2 b'

What does this mean, in terms of money? If anyone can let me know I appreciate your help.

main scale means any point on the ay scale which runs from £22k ish for an nqt to £30kish at the top. schools now have discretion to pay what they like so anything in that range is possible. a tlr is a teaching and learning responsibility point and there is a range for this as well, these are typically a few thousand pounds, but some can go up to £10k or so depending on what you are doing. these are typically for heads of dept, subject, key stage and pastoral heads.

hth actual numbers will be available on the tes website
