Just wander what people think if it would be a good idea for my DH to look for work in prep school ( teaching) if we want to send DC to such a school? DS is 5 at the moment

I think your DH should look for a job in a school where his skills and abilities are required, and where he thinks he would be happy. If that happens to be a school where your ds could attend, then great. However, I don't think your DH should look for a job simply so that your ds can get a place.

What happens if your dh doesn't get on there and wants to leave? Would you be prepared to move your ds as well?

If your DH does and it's the only way you can afford the fees then he is making a commitment to work there until DS is 18.

He needs to be really really sure he's prepared to do that.
