I presume they have insurance covering you to use it at home? Don't worry- I once had a laptop belonging to the school stolen (left it in a box on a classroom shelf and it went missing)- although I got told off for not locking it away more securely, they didn't charge me as they had insurance.

We're supposed to cover them ourselves...

We've been TOLD to take ours home to use them as we will to become familiar with them and therefore be more comfortable using them with our class. No mention of insurance or our need to cover anything.

I've got mine in a case and leave it in school as often as possible for just this problem.

We are told to add it equipment to home insurance if we take it home.

What's the damage? Is it still useable? My daughter dropped my iPad on concrete but here I am on MN on it. The screen's a bit crazed but it works fine.

I'm able to use it but won't be able to let children use it as it really is cracked, like crazy paving. It was my new tiled kitchen floor!

You can get the ipad screen replaced for about 50.00.

You can get ipad screens replaced for not tons of money! Don't give up hope! Hopefully someone will more knowledge will come along soon (maybe even post in chat?) but it can be done!
