Crikey! Worst mocks ever...

I'm panicking. One of my year 11 classes have just produced the worst set of mock papers I have ever marked. Thank God we did mocks early - at least I have two terms to get them sorted out. Seriously, though, I have never seen anything like it. If one of my department's classes produced mocks with similar scores I'd be questioning their competence. I'm questioning my own competence, TBH, despite the fact that I've been doing this for 14 years, always get excellent results and am consistently graded 'outstanding' both by ofsted and over longer by my line manager. I am horrified. What I am doing is not working.

Has anyone else hit a point where a complete rethink of practice is necessary for just one class? My other class, of similar ability, have done brilliantly. It's a nightmare.

I'm rethinking my competence after looking at mine as well! No advice for you!

Oh well - at least I'm not alone. That's as good as advice. Suck to be us!

No, you're not alone!

Is there a particular trend? i.e. a particular topic they all scored low marks on, or misunderstanding of certain concepts?

Is it possible there were extenuating circumstances that caused them all to get distracted on the day of the exam?
