A strike query

I am a teacher in a Primary school. My children are also primary school age. I am an NUT member and will be striking. Even if I wasn't I would be taking unpaid leave as my children's school is closed and I have no child care. My boss said I could take them in but I feel this is morally wrong - that is tantamount to asking a teacher to cover for a striking colleague.
My colleagues are not striking. One of them has a child who is school age - his school may end up closing and she is planning to bring him to work with her.

What I'm asking is if anyone knows the legality of this? If it is against strike protocol I feel I need to say something..... If it isn't I shall put up and shut up!
