I've posted this on TES - but thought I might find some good ideas here, too!
So, there I was, thinking that I would have a tiny Year 6 class of 25! No, by Friday I was back to 30, and all 5 of the new children have only a few words of English.
1 speaks French, 1 Bulgarian, 1 Italian, 1 Urdu and 1 Spanish.
This is my 4th Year in Year 6, and until now the only new children coming into my class have been fluent English speakers.
I have 1 TA in the morning. The 25 original children range from L5A to 2A, so I had planned to have either my TA or me focusing on the LA group.
So, suggestions, please. Any resources you have found useful, organisational strategies that you think might work? Our target for this year was meant to be 82% L4+......
