I am currently on Maternity Leave from work. I am a primary school teacher on UPS3 +Tlr 2 (the minimum amount; is that 2a or 2c?)
I am now officially in the additional maternity leave bit where I am only paid SMP instead of receiving a percentage of my normal salary. I have been off work for 6 months but am not going back to work until the end of December.
I have agreed to go into work for the next 2 INSET days (tomorrow and Wednesday) and to work 8 other KIT days between now and returning to work. I am happy to do all these days.
However, does anyone know how I get paid for these days. I have a form to complete to keep a track of which days I work and HT has a form to send to payroll. KIT days don't affect my ML but do they affect my SMP? Will I be paid SMP + daily rate of teaching? Will they calculate how much I would earn (i.e. I am only doing 2 KIT days in September, the others will be mostly in November and December) so will they calculate 2 days wages, calculate SMP and see if there is any difference. So if SMP is c£500 pcm and my 2 days come to c£300, would I not get anything extra for working?
If this makes sense to anyone, please help!!
Thanks!
