teaching KS2 and KS3 - further CPD?

I am teaching in an independent sector. Initially was teaching up to GCSE/A level. then due to changes in timetabling, the classes were spread onto KS2 and 3. Now I am thinking of my CPD and whatever I prefer, the school will say that the way timetable works - I need to cover those classes...shall I just go with flow and understand that school's interests come first ( especially in an independent sector)? If I teach KS2 and KS3 without GCSE/A level experience - how will it affect my future career?
