What's your teaching load like? We've had timetables today (TODAY- can't get over how disorganised it's been this year) and I have more this year than last. A colleague and I were discussing it and I wondered if actually we've been a bit spoiled in previous years. I will be teaching 40/50 in a 2 week timetable.

25/30 per week

Palepinkflowerinsummer · 13/07/2013 07:27

Blimey superam. 10 hours of non teaching time for me.

EvilTwins · 13/07/2013 09:13

Palelpink- 10 hours per week?

29/40. 3 of the 11 non contacts are set aside for curriculum core team meetings so 8 'frees'. Best I've ever had- last year taught 34/40.

We haven't had our timetables yet, we sometimes don't get draft ones until last day and then proper ones in sept!

When I was ft HoD last year I got one extra hour a week than mainscale teachers. However it depends what department English, Maths and Science get more and smaller Dept's get less

SprinkleLiberally · 13/07/2013 09:29

One extra non contact lesson per week. One of the reasons I gave it up!

EvilTwins · 13/07/2013 10:10

Perhaps I should stop moaning then Wink

Different for different departments. I'm head of a core subject and started with 39/50 (2 week timetable). Went up to 43 with staff absence, and I was pretty close to losing it really, partly because of all the extra that comes when over 1/3 of your department is missing!

Helpyourself · 13/07/2013 10:33

At least you've got your timetables now.
I still remember the chill as I realised that the timetable I was getting my tutor group to copy from the boar clashed with my one.

notnowImreading · 13/07/2013 10:37

Core subject 16/25. Foundation subjects 19/25.

TheFallenMadonna · 13/07/2013 10:40

Blimey that's low. Or are we just hard done by?

PotteringAlong · 13/07/2013 17:33

42/50 in a 2 week timetable. It will be my busiest year

cuggles · 13/07/2013 20:01

25/30 for me..medium sized dept. (PE)...so 3 for PPA plus 2 for HOD role!
