Hi, I would really like some advice. I have recently moved my daughter to a new primary school ( she moved after easter) The reason I did so was because the junior school which she would have gone to from her old infant school was not great eg Behaviour issues , not very good Sats results. However I think I have made the wrong decision. Although her new school is better academically it doesn't feel as 'warm' as the old one. Old school was CofE and now I really miss the religious teaching. I know I will be critised for the chopping and changing but as a teacher how would you feel about a child coming back? My dd is fairly easy going. Seems happy enough now at new school was very happy at old school. Thanks

No, seriously, this has happened in my school occasionally, including returns from different continents! Id think a school would be really pleased to know that you appreciate its ethos and environment, over test results too.

Have you talked to your dd about it? How old is she btw?

I've not talked about it to her as I'm not sure if I should move her again. Dh thinks it will be too much to have another change. She is 5 and in reception. I must add that she was initially at a completely different school for 6 weeks at start of September. This was a school we were allocated not one we wanted. Then place came up at the lovely infants ( which we have just left) then place came up at our 1st choice school where she is now. Although its a great school on paper I'm just not sure it's right for her.

I am right in understanding that your child is in Reception, has already been at 3 different schools and you are considering moving her again?
If I was the head teacher of your child's school I would be very concerned about receiving a child like this back with such indecisive parents.

Poor child, you need to make up your mind and stick with that decision. The grass is always greener.....

Thanks for the replies ...lonely that's sort of what I was expecting, although dd is fairly good, tries hard at school, I suspect she would always be known as the child with the PITA parents if she went back.

She's got a lot of years left, move her back if you think she'll be happier, everyone will forget about it in time, unless you genuinely are unusually difficult.

Ah that's positive to hear Mavis. I don't think I'm too difficult ( although re reading post I seem to be ). I just want my kids to be happy and hopefully do better at school then i did. Have an awful lot of respect for teachers even more so now I have kids. Looking after 30 children all day long?! I struggle with 2!
If place had gone Feenie - it will be lesson that I should have really listened to my heart and not moved her.
