I am going back to teaching after a 5 year break having my kids. I am going to be teaching a bright year 4/5 class. Thing is, everything seems to have changed and I need help. Do we still have a national numeracy and literacy strategies to work from. Where can I find the learning objectives? Also, when I trained, guided reading meant taking turns to read pages of the same book and discussing together. Then it changed to all reading quietly while I went round listening to individuals and then discussing. Am going to meet with teacher I'm covering next week and don't want to make an arse of myself!! Thank you.

No the nns doesn't exist any more. The gov. introduced maths and lit. Frameworks. These are archived on standards site with L.Os (apparently new gov to replace it but no sign of it yet!)
