When is it acceptable for a member of teaching staff to make leering perv comments to a child's mother? It actually happened at a PTA do and he was quite pissed, so no children but one very embarrassed and angry me. He was very 'Sid James'...
What should I have done? To my shame, it was a few years ago and DCs have both left, but I saw him recently and anger rose in my throat like lava.

Maureen, you're right. I brushed it under the carpet which is the wrong thing to do. I brought it up now because I saw him this week and he made me really uneasy, and seemed to be bitching to a teacher at our new school, about me (you know the signs, heads together, both look round at the same time...)
The issues at the time were

1. He was pissed
2. He is a senior staff member at an independent prep
3. I was panicky about complaining because I anticipated being asked to withdraw DCs from the school. The staff have a reputation of closing ranks.

Woffling I don't like lecherous mothers (or fathers) either. They're embarrassing and bloody downright shameful. I knew one mother who actually 'threatened' to show the bursar her tits in order to get her own way. I think she filled up every morning on the way to school at one point...vodka, I think.
