I am in a private special needs independent school. Also a single mum who has just started paying childcare and need to save pennies where I can. I am in the NUT - is it worth me continuing???

You need to be in a union for insurance purposes (not mandatory but common sense).

Most teachers stick with the union they joined when they were training, but ATL has an independent school division.
