Life’s too short to go trawling through old posts. Tell me what I actually said and I’ll answer it. I have no time for these McCarthyite witch-hunts.

Speaking of witch-hunts, though, if this were the Mumsnet board of the 1600s, I suspect some of you would have been enthusiastically supporting the Witchcraft Act of 1542 (33 Henry VIII, c. 8), which criminalised alleged witchcraft and sorcery as felonies punishable by death.

The Act referred to “any Invocacons or conjuracons of Sprites wichecraftes enchauntmentes or sorceries”.
And as Meghan burned at the stake, you’d be standing around, clucking self-righteously about your own apparent virtue before God and the King. Some things, it seems, never change.

We get it, you think everyone posting is vile. So why are you still bothering to post? Or do you think you'll wear us down, one nauseating comment at a time?

I have to say that personally I applaud Harry for keeping silent in this case, it really is the wisest decision, so for this one time ….well done Harry!

He's been locked in a dungeon. It's the only way they can possibly silence that man!

Passingthroughagain · Today 14:30

I asked Chat for a summary of who I was and I think sarcastic covers that off nicely anyway that's enough about me.

Vera99 presents publicly as a politically engaged republican with a strong concern for class, institutional power and accountability. Their criticism is directed not only at individual royals but at the hereditary structure and the privileges associated with it. They are particularly sympathetic to Harry and Meghan when they perceive them to be targets of disproportionate hostility, although that does not necessarily mean they endorse the Sussexes uncritically.

Their forum style is argumentative, sometimes sarcastic, and inclined to interpret royal news through a broader political lens. They also appear conscious of the factional nature of Royal Family discussions and of the personal friction that can accompany dissenting views.

The principal limitation is that this is a profile of a public online persona, drawn from selected threads rather than every post. It cannot establish the poster's complete beliefs, private character, real-world identity or motives with certainty.

So you're really Vera99? That explains so much!

Because that is what they always do. Because if they say “we didn’t know”, they risk being dragged in to an unedifying game of “we said, they said” by either the press or the Sussexes, regardless of whether anyone at the Palace knew anything or not. Do you agree that Meghan has got in to the mess she is in because she insisted on saying something? This is what the Palace sensibly want to avoid

I think she has made a right mess of it. Most spectacularly by her cognitive dissonance of saying she didn’t follow up with LE or speak out publicly because she believed it could compromise an investigation but then when it suited her in 2025 to write directly to the perpetrator and tell him what she knew giving him an opportunity to clear all evidence etc. So I see all of her actions as purely self serving. It suited her keep it quiet, it suited her to weaponise it in private to blackmail her DF, it suited her to jump on the bandwagon to say she already knew not for the victims but explicitly for her own PR around not seeing her father. All of this is proactive chaos.

However if the TMj story had just run and she was asked about what she knew and when it would be expected that she respond accurately rather than decline to comment (unless that was what she was ‘still’ be directed by the Met Police. So I would expect BP to provide accurate facts if asked rather than decline to comment which IMO looks shady given their very recent history of the handling of the AMW situation.

Life’s too short is it?

It really is I killed vera99 at my own hands by deleting my account and then recently I acquired a new email account for business reasons and slinked back - I shall probably need to repeat that and leave you to it and make us all happy !

Starryfifty · Today 14:32

andyburnhamhere · Today 14:24

Anyway, there are rumours of apologies forthcoming from the Sussex camp. I'm sure, like most people here, I'd welcome that if it proved to be the case, and perhaps it could signal some sort of rapprochement after this long impasse. This new affair may have blown up quite unexpectedly and certainly hasn't helped.

Nevertheless, The i Paper has been told the couple are willing to explore some form of a personal apology, but it is unclear what exactly they would be willing to issue a mea culpa for.
A source close to the couple said: “If they need to apologise, they will, but that will be a discussion that happens in private.”
The condition of any apology needing to remain private will raise eyebrows in the Palace, where the couple’s willingness to openly air family grievances have proven so damaging to relations.

inews.co.uk/news/hidden-threat-harry-meghan-apology-mission-4838099

IMO, the only reason they would apologise is to get back under the Royal wing. HAM's "recollections " particularly Meg's are coming back to haunt them. She should have stayed quiet around all this

You still don't seem to get that this is Meghan's problem. It concerned her family, the letter was sent to her, her security team was alerted.

It had and has nothing to do with BP, any more than the AMW situation had anything to do with Meghan.

"No comment" is the perfect response.

Yes I'm valeriy2 as well - but I had a NC for another board and it defaulted to that when I made a comment and you can't change it back within a thread. Nothing sinister just how it works now.Looks like I am being witch hunted !!

One thing that stands out is that HaM took a Freedom Flight to the USA.

While living there they had access to Governor Newsom, M cold called Senators, M visited former first lady and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, HaMs interacted with NYPD regarding their "near-catastrophic car chase," among other interactions.

And in none of these interactions did the HaMs inform US lawmakers, politicians or police of their suspicions about the activities of Markle Senior, a US citizen? Not even calling the FBI tip line?

Quite the choice, considering they felt free to screech endlessly about tights and lipgloss.

So you're posting under two handles? I thought that was against site rules.

What would Justine say?

It is within a thread but not over the site. I doubt Justine cares - as long as the money rolls in she's probably quite content to leave us be. I did hear from somewhere she was bored of the site .No idea if that’s true but it's her milch cow for sure. The annual profit is around £3 million and she owns 60%.

But it was at the time in Jan 2019 when H&M were WRF when the letter was sent to The Office of Harry and Meghan at that time within the KP household. If Qs are being asked what did MM know and do, what did the Met know and do then it’s not ridiculous to ask the same Qs of the institution into which the letter was delivered who were responsible for MM’s security.

They may have a very acceptable answer which was we followed Met guidance to do x,y,z.

I don’t think that the most recent expose is relevant to BP and agree they shouldn’t get involved - but if they were asked what they knew and what they did in 2019 I think it would serve them better to be transparent given that it’s a sensitive serious safeguarding issue that Camilla and Sophie actively campaign on for decades. The timing is also important as 2019 was when the AMW issue was at peak pressure.

MM made a statement on an issue that affects her family. She gave details (that she didn't have to) of an aspect of it that issue dating from the time when she was a working royal.

She put herself in the line of fire for questions on the matter.

If people want to ask the same questions of the RF, the fact that they have declined to comment indicates that they have nothing to say on the matter and so will say nothing. Least said, soonest mended and all that.

No, I did not absolutely not. I was banned for a week under the username vera99, apologised to the very kind moderator, and learned my lesson. I had accused a certain member of this board of being a paid member of the Royal Household. That was out of order, I acknowledged it, apologised for it, and moved on. There is valeriy2 but no Valeriy99.

you need to stop….you disappeared last time because of questions about usernames which you actually admitted to then as well !
also it’s not a witch hunt when you yourself have shared the information.

I agree BP owe MM nothing now but as any institution be it a school, scout camp, workplace when an allegation of such serious nature lands on your desk you have an obligation to deal with it as per your in-house policies or any other legal or best practice requirements.

It might be that ‘it was logged and we took the direction of The Met Police’ - so there would be a paper trail for 2019 when H&M were WRF members and the Met considered it sufficient security risk to share with H&M Office - even if this stopped at H&M and their private secretary or head of security.

It landed on MM's desk.

They can ask her what she did about it.

The fact that the RF is declining to comment rather indicates that they'd like to hear what she has to say on that matter, too.
