It’s definitely a retrofitted excuse, and it’s biting her on the arse with the people who matter.

That's the problem with basing your whole existence on lies - keeping track. Unluckily for her, there are people who keep track and they have the receipts.

MrsFinkelstein · 24/10/2026 10:40

The whole issue is complicated by Meghan's typical response of Over-complain and Over-explain. It's always an unhelpful response and it's exponentially worse with this story.

Fair enough she broke off contact with her Dad - why then go on about Press collusion as the basis for it? Why write the 5 friends letter? Why sue the Daily Mail over publishing that letter?

And I just can't buy the "couldn't speak for legal reasons". She contacted several US Senators for various reasons, apparently contacted Gavin Newsome so often he started screening her calls. Contacted the NYPD Commissioner. Contacted the Home Office.

Didn't ask at all at any point in the past 8yrs - What's happening with this? If she did and was told no investigation because not enough evidence or unsubstantiated claims - why not say that? Why continue going No Contact so publicly?

Even last year when she got US Consulate staff to deliver the letter to him in hospital - she never asked about potential criminal allegations?

Her decision to go NC was absolutely her choice, I've known people so it for a variety of reasons - I could just never see how the reasons she gave justified it, especially in view of their own behaviour towards Harry's family.

Assuming the Met would ever investigate a US citizen who had committed no crime in the UK, and never been resident there is just really dumb. And Meghan isn't dumb.

She's getting some sympathy just now, but it's mainly from the usual corners - I don't see this as being a PR win - it's all just too tawdry, seedy and chaotic.

After all, Beatrice and Eugenie aren't supported for staying silent about AMW over the years, even though they've now apparently broke contact.

I don't know the details of this but I can imagine this has blown up at a moment not of her choosing and commercial decisions as to ad placements etc are mad long before and probably not done by her either but her team. But if you want to find each and every potential transgression and used it to beat her so be it.

I am not convinced about this - I asked a few weeks ago what was the marketing campaign for As Ever - we would not see ads here in the UK on UK media as As Ever doesn’t ship here and none of the US contributors could point to Ads in MSM on SM over there so it was decided that there was no advertising campaign in place.

I might make sense that MM wouldn’t take money from The Sun for her comments directly but may have struck a deal for free advertising of As Ever in response to cooperating with their reporting. She has said that she plans to launch As Ever in the UK so this would be a lucrative opportunity here and also The Sun exclusive online would be viewed in the US which is her current market.

If she has done this it’s very wrong headed to shoehorn in an opportunity to offload her tat and UPFs in the context of what appears to be extensive and prolific child rape and this will backfire on her. I really hope she hasn’t done this for the victims sakes.

Yes, threres whole threads on it. Go look. This is the Meg n Harry PR thread.

Really? Like 55 long-running threads full of fixated people who kept the receipts, matched the timeframes etc who are scrutinising RF inaction re AMW behaviour??

ilovemykindle · 24/10/2026 10:42

How has someone from the press/media got a copy of the letter.
No one from the Met Police would have let them see it.
Did Meghan have a copy again she wouldn't have been given a copy from the police.

AutumnCrowOfTheChillWind · 24/10/2026 10:43

Following initial confusion and conflicting claims over whether he received her messages, Markle’s spokesperson told us she had successfully delivered a private letter to Thomas via “trusted contacts.” The contents of that letter have never been made public.

I suspect Thomas Snr might want to publish that 2025 letter from Meghan now, if it contains nothing about her belief in the 2018 allegations in the letter that ended up in the ‘Fixated’ pile …

Igy · 24/10/2026 10:43

Haven't finished reading to the end of the thread, but possible scenario:

TM Snr investigated back in 2018 over possible child abuse crimes -Nothing came of it, hence TM Snr was able to leave US and get on with his life.

TM Snr and junior flat sharing in Philippines- Jnr has problem with computer, calls in IT help, images are found - Jnr blames Snr - but could be Jnr?

Having read that back, not sure it fits but posting anyway

Yes . Lots of threads to choose from.

What's that saying about being a liar? You have to have a good memory. Harry and Meghan have terrible memories.

On Instagram in 2023 the son was making statements about his dad and disturbing tales about girls on trips to Thailand, that (he speculates) may have contributed to the demise of his marriage to Doria.

If he was the author of the letter and his claims were vague rather than specifics of who/where/when I can understand why it was felt there might not be enough credible information to base an investigation on.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpGiOizD9wx/?exln=MThoMzJxdnkzbzdlbQ==

God only knows why Harry thought a world wide slagging off of his family was a good idea when armed with the knowledge that his new bride’s family closet was not exactly skeleton free. It’s like moving into a greenhouse with the express intent of throwing stones from it.

If there is truth in this why did Doria leave Meghan with TM ?

AutumnCrowOfTheChillWind · 24/10/2026 10:49

cheezncrackers · 24/10/2026 09:04

But she is saying that the Met police told her they would investigate. How is it her fault that they didn't and that they seemingly didn't share this (AFAIK) single unsubstantiated claim in a letter with the US and Mexican authorities? I don't see how that is her fault or her responsibility? Again, I'm a huge critic of Meghan generally, but in this instance I can't see that she did anything wrong.

A key question is what they actually told her. Did they really say ‘we’re going to investigate your father for CSA?’ or ‘we’re going to contact the letter writer of this nasty garbage as it’s harassment’?

And don’t forget the HaMs are people who have a hotline to the Home Secretary yet they were remarkably incurious and quiet about how any ‘investigation’ into her father was going.

IcedPurple · 24/10/2026 10:51

smilesy · 24/10/2026 07:53

It has been reported that the letter was actually addressed to that department @IcedPurple. At least that is what the BBC report says 🤷‍♀️

They in turn are quoting The S*n so don't seem to have any information we don't have.

Also, 'sent' to the department by whom? It could be that Meghan's staff intercepted the letter and forwarded it to the 'Fixated Persons' dept because of its content. Just a guess. There is so much we don't know and to be frank, shouldn't know. This really should never have been made public at all.

The letter supposedly came from someone close to the Markle family. So they likely have a copy of the original. Did Thomas jr and Samantha know in 2018?

You know, no there isn’t. Because everyone is in agreement about AMW. There’s no counter arguments put forward so there isn’t much to say is there?

Unlike these threads, which can attract posters who seem very keen on defending Meghan and thus keep the threads going and going.

So well done on your contribution to the 55 threads.

What actual evidence is there that Doria is a social worker? She is supposedly running a care home that is an empty shell and clearly some kind of tax dodge. I don't think she's worked since M got married and it's unclear what her actual role was before that.
Child protection is a specific area that needs specialised training.

Actually I don’t disagree with you. Years ago a poster looked up her registration and found it didn’t exist, she was trained but had not completed the necessary hours to able to work unsupervised. However that was a long time ago and things may be different.

Assuming she is what we’ve been told though, wouldn’t there be some sort of ethical code that might require her to disclose allegations of this sort? And if not, wouldn’t she want to anyway?

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 24/10/2026 11:00

So they can be continually contacting
the UK and American authorities about their own security and making representations to a Home security but zero fucks about CSA allegations.

if Meghan was really concerned, she could have used her usual modus operandi of friends contacting People with ‘she’s not in contact with TM due to xxxx’ and try to push it along. I know I’d be using my power to protect young children rather than having tea with malala for photo ops.

She had a voice, but only uses it to benefit herself.

I'm always surprised that Doria seemed to be absent during Meghan's serious MH problems? Harry seemed ludicrously incompetent about it all, but there was no mention of her Mum.

Ponoka7 · 24/10/2026 11:04

AtIusvue · 24/10/2026 09:25

The Met aren’t investigating these Crimes! They are investigating the whereabouts of a letter that Meg claims they passed on.

That's what I said. They are also looking into what their response was, as the MET, they would have given a response to a possible child abuser looking for a ETA to visit the UK. Given the latest investigations into the MET re rapist officers not being investigated and many voices calling for Rowley's sacking, they are going to want to be seen as being thorough and precise.

Doria is in the Freedom Flight video, isn’t she? I think she’s there, in the background, more than we know, helping with the kids etc… But, now that they’re in the UK maybe not.

Rhaidimiddim · 24/10/2026 09:33

Late to this thread and haven't perused the earlier posts.

But this latest story beggars (my) belief.

A letter "written by someone close to the Markle family" (according to their bestie Chris Ship) was sent to an obscure branch of the Met in 2018.

The Met Branch are scrambling to find the letter.

The Met Branch not only showed this letter to MM but ALLOWED HER TO MAKE A COPY OF IT. How many breaches of police procedure does this involve?

Did I mention that the Met Branch are scrambling to find this letter?

But MM has a copy, which she has shared with them, and with a British tabloid (oh, the irony)!

I'm glad to see that Page Six (that well-known bastion of fact-based journalism) is asking questions.

If our press every get round to asking questions, they might start with asking whether the letter (or the information in it) actually every existed. If so, was it shared with the HoS, since it involved her family and the safety of the children within it. They might then find the answer is no, which undermines the credibility of either MM or the Met Branch; if the answer is yes, then the RF get dragged into the mess and have to start explaining stuff.

This is a mega mess that is going to rumble on for years. If someone had ever decided to plant a disruptor into the RF - job done!

The Met have no credibility to lose IMO. Events of the past few years involving Sarah Everard, Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry to name just a few (may they all RIP now) show that they don't give a shit about sexual or violent crimes against women and children and half the time are probably supporting the perpetrators or taking part themselves. I would not have hopes that they'd tackle any allegations appropriately, nor would I find it hard to believe they'd do things like share copies of letters that are potentially evidence in an investigation. The 'we're just in the basement looking for it now, sit tight' response from the Met hasn't really helped.

That said, the statement made by Meghan about all this is very odd. None of that makes her responsible for anything her father may have done or at fault for it. But it begs a number of questions. If someone really wanted to stop Thomas Markle abusing children as he is alleged to have done, the most effective way would be to contact law enforcement where he was then living, or where the alleged offences had been committed. The UK isn't either of those. But if someone wanted to underline how Megan's distancing herself from her father was justified, and link anything Thomas Markle may have done to that, then making contact with UK law enforcement would make a lot more sense. Of course we don't know an awful lot yet and may never do. I'm just trying to work out what the letter writer may have had in mind.

Finally (for now) the point in Meghan' s statement about 'certain media publications’ distortion over the years' is deliberately misleading. In the main what has been reported about her estrangement from her father is based on what she herself and her spokespeople have chosen to say about it, which has never included any of these recent revelations. How is that a distortion? She has used this turn of events to make out that she was misrepresented, when she has been doing that herself.

Do you think this is why she's rushed back to the UK? She never reported him to US authorities the entire time she was in Cali – the Americans won't look kindly on that. Without being too grim, it makes her – and Harry – complicit in his continued abuse of children, if he is guilty, which he increasingly appears to be.

She's covered feeling helpless during interviews. Not being able to protect Meghan from the press, not wanting to unintentionally add to rumours. Saying out of the press to give all of them privacy. Not understanding the lack of reaction and help from the Royal family. Doria doesn't deserve her life being picked over. Katherine's family certainly wouldn't stand up to scrutiny, but her family's wrongdoings are brushed over, Doria doesn't deserve any less than them. Thomas fled to Mexico then the Philippines. It took years to extradite Glitter, even though there were children (then adults) speaking out.
