Particularly as she's always tried to position herself as a brave whistleblower who won't be silenced, calls people out and shines a light on things others look away from.

She was brave enough to risk defaming the mighty RF (with all their resources and power) with her accusations that her kids would be denied titles, linking that to discussions about the colour of her children’s skin.

But she’s not brave enough with her millions in the bank, to risk defaming a man that filed for bankruptcy in 2016 and was potentially harming children.

itwouldbebettertojumpPiggy · 24/10/2026 09:52

I don’t think Meghan has done anything wrong.

What she has done is nothing. In nothing, I mean she has kept silent and done nothing. I’m not surprised as this is her usual default setting.

Unless she herself is miscalling others, she is mute when she could have stepped up or stepped in.

I don’t know if her dad is guilty or not but she has endorsed the allegations with her actions - despite the overhanging shonky time lines and surrounding fibs.

The thing is, both her and H are known for being liars and anything they say I have a problem believing.

If TMS is guilty, then I hope justice is done.

If he is not then this is the absolute worst thing that she has ever done.

Mmm...and what happened with those children's titles that were denied because of racism? 🧐

On Instagram in 2023 the son was making statements about his dad and disturbing tales about girls on trips to Thailand, that (he speculates) may have contributed to the demise of his marriage to Doria.

If he was the author of the letter and his claims were vague rather than specifics of who/where/when I can understand why it was felt there might not be enough credible information to base an investigation on.

God only knows why Harry thought a world wide slagging off of his family was a good idea when armed with the knowledge that his new bride’s family closet was not exactly skeleton free. It’s like moving into a greenhouse with the express intent of throwing stones from it.

But if you want to find each and every potential transgression and used it to beat her so be it.

But she seems to think she is the victim in this instance. If there hadn’t been so many other transgressions, she would not be getting scrutinised for her actions/inaction around this one.

There are real victims out there. Both H&M have played the victim for so long, they’ve lost hold of reality.

Rhaidimiddim · 24/10/2026 09:57

AtIusvue · 24/10/2026 09:41

The reality is, there will be months of stories, people will question her inaction over time, this will never disappear for Meg,

Families often have to carry the stigma of others crimes but we are seeing inaction from Meghan which carries it own stigma.

you can’t operate an aspirational lifestyle brand, when the reality of your life is pretty harrowing.

It’s going to be drip, drip of stories that will erode her social standing.

I do feel sorry for her kids and having to go to school with all this in the press.

She really didn't think through (anyone surprised?) what her immediate reaction should be. She went straight for the short-term gain of a means to explain why she doesn't see her dad, without considering the long-term loss of having to face questions about what she did and did not know to safeguard e.g. her nephews and nieces.

I think it's a PR disaster for them. The Sun is widely regarded as the lowest of tabloids, the most seedy, tawdry, grubby, sordid, low-rent rag. For them to be so obviously making an alliance with them just cheapens and tarnishes their image more than ever. They've fallen so far. Royal glitter? They couldnt be further than that now, they are giving more Katie Price & Peter Andre vibes. Meghan may garner some sympathy but only the sort of rubber-necking, lost-all-dignity, disaster-zone sympathy like with the "I found out my lover was really my dad" people you see in take a break magazine. They've become a cheap soap opera that people will watch for entertainment. This has changed everything for them IMO.

I have to admit I am always deeply suss of ANYONE who "chooses" to buddy up with The Sun. It usually means we (The Sun) know your secrets and if you work with us we'll put out a sympathetic version and if you don't
then we'll print what we know. The are the gutterist of all the gutter press.

They are also calling child abuse images, child porn, they are just about selling more copies.
The MET have opened an seperate investigation. If it was (and it should have been) an ongoing criminal investigation, then Meghan couldn't have gone public without jeopardising it. Perhaps the length of time was because Thomas moved from place to place and there's always something not quite right when a man flees to the Philippines. The letter was given via the Royal Family Threat Unit, as is usual when there's any form of threat, even towards reputation, to the involved royal member. Have we forgotten how Katherine's brother had to be told to stop his dealings with Russians? Or over the years told to stop using his royal connection to get busines? The MET are to answer questions, it won't come via H&M. Posters are acting faux confused, as though they know the inner workings of the royal family and how they are constantly advised by the FTAC via the MET, which was confirmed via the security court cases.

The Met have not opened an investigation nor did they at the time. All they have said is that they are trying to establish what happened with regard to the letter. The BBC report (and others) seem to imply that the letter was sent directly to the FTAC

I’ve attached screenshots as some can’t access the BBC. I presume they won’t come through straight away

I too wonder why there wasn’t a joint statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and why it’s just coming from Meg.

Was Harry aware of all this?

Maybe H was advised to return to the UK (hence the sudden move home) when this started brewing in July. And get shot of Meghan? (MIG might be happy if she goes without a push). I don’t know… Would he keep the kids here, say it’s because of school (hence all of the school drama, doesn’t want to uproot them again etc…). There must be some get-out option for him with regards RF? It neatly cuts them off from TM.

Why on earth would the MIGs be happy with a separation or divorce? That's quite a stretch.

Dontevenlookatme · 24/10/2026 10:11

None of it makes sense. MM would surely have shared this with her mother. Doria is a social worker. Presumably she has professional responsibilities when allegations of this sort come to light.

It seems to me that if the letter existed it was in the same vein as the one TM Jnr wrote to Harry about MM, lots of venom, nothing of substance. I very much doubt it would be the reason for MM to keep her children away from her father, and it’s crass of her to use this as an opportunity to absolve herself.

I won’t comment on the latest allegations because there is so much that isn’t known. If they turn out to be true I feel sorry for her. No-one wants to hear that about their own father.

I don't think it's reasonable to blame Meghan for As ever adverts appearing in the Sun stories - it's likely to have been an advertising deal unrelated to the specific story.

Are people questioning years and years of RF inaction about AMW (before he was finally stripped off his titles)?

It would not look good for Harry to be seen abandoning his wife in the wake of this. He should have had the brains to get out long before this.

AtIusvue · 24/10/2026 10:19

Thing is, we all know any involvement with the police, you have to keep on top of them to keep updated with things. There aren’t the best at keeping you informed.

Why did Meghan believe there was Met involvement that absolved her from any further dealings in the situation? Why did she think it gave her permission to disengage?

Quite quickly she would have found out there was no investigation, because she was receiving no updates. So what did she do then? After 6 months, a year, 4 years and she’s now aware there’s no investigation? or didn’t she follow up at all in 8 years to find out what was happening?

At what point did she discover there’s no Met investigation and what did she do at that point with the info she had?

What actual evidence is there that Doria is a social worker? She is supposedly running a care home that is an empty shell and clearly some kind of tax dodge. I don't think she's worked since M got married and it's unclear what her actual role was before that.
Child protection is a specific area that needs specialised training.

elessar · 24/10/2026 10:22

“she didn’t have firm proof of the allegations and to make public allegations could have jeopardized an investigation or opened her up to litigation.”

This - part of the Sussex clapback - annoys me, but I think it speaks very clearly to MM’s state of mind. Basically unless something can be used for PR and to support her image, she doesn’t see the point. Why did she need to say anything publicly? She could have followed this up quietly behind the scenes with the relevant authorities and said nothing at all about it in the media.

And nothing said she had to maintain her publicly stated view that she didn’t speak to her father for different reasons. She could have said she didn’t wish to speak about him and left it at that. Unfortunately, she and Harry have well and truly put their foot in it by the things they’ve said over the years which totally contradict this as being the reason they’re no contact with him. I’m glad the Mail and other publications are calling out the facts as they stand rather than letting Meghan’s version lie unchallenged.

Plus he loves her. Which started this whole problem! She might leave for the right money.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 24/10/2026 10:26

“she didn’t have firm proof of the allegations and to make public allegations could have jeopardized an investigation or opened her up to litigation.”

That's why they're called allegations, because you don't necessarily have firm proof She didn't have to make them public, she just had to go to the relevant police and say 'I think DF has CSA on his laptop and this is why' and they'll decide if it warrants an investigation.

What litigation did she think she'd attract? unless she's under the impression DF would sue her for defamation or something.

AtIusvue · 24/10/2026 10:27

If you believed, that a relative of yours was under legal investigation by the Met police and because of this you can’t speak out……why would you not becomes suspicious when you’ve received zero updates from them?

Why wouldn’t you enquire what’s happening with the investigation? She would have discovered within weeks it wasn’t being investigated.

Why did she wash her hands of any involvement?

AutumnCrowOfTheChillWind · 24/10/2026 10:30

I just find it strange that her big letter to her dad which ended up in court made no reference to these allegations. If I was writing to my dad in those circumstances I’d have mentioned it, especially if it was the reason for cutting off contact.

✔️

@KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow, and the behind-the-scenes chat that Meg had about her construction of the letter - all that ‘it has to tug at the heart rings’ stuff - didn’t even hint at a known disturbing undercurrent, from what I remember of that crazy court case where she lied.

It’s definitely a retrofitted excuse, and it’s biting her on the arse with the people who matter.

BunnyBunbunbun · 24/10/2026 10:33

cheezncrackers · 24/10/2026 09:04

But she is saying that the Met police told her they would investigate. How is it her fault that they didn't and that they seemingly didn't share this (AFAIK) single unsubstantiated claim in a letter with the US and Mexican authorities? I don't see how that is her fault or her responsibility? Again, I'm a huge critic of Meghan generally, but in this instance I can't see that she did anything wrong.

Perhaps no police investigated because they didn't find the claims credible. Or perhaps there was a small investigation and it did not find any evidence of wrongdoing.

Either way, Meghan could still have followed up and tried to find out what was going on. She just seems to have allowed it to be forgotten.

Far from being a PR victory for her, all she's achieved with her unnecessary statement is to invite scrutiny and questions about the inconsistency in her own claims.
