A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

Sophie and Edward were half in and out. Until the sting on Sophie found she was selling access to the royals and Edwards own firm broke the press agreement to not photograph William and harry at Eton.

MeghanAndTheSeals · 16/10/2026 22:20

And they learned their lessons and have worked to rehabilitate their image. Got anything a bit more current, some of it is now ancient history.

Peter Phillips and his sister are private citizens. They hold no royal titles, do not represent the King, and do not receive any allowances from the Crown.

No difference from Harry and Meghan so why are you worked up about what H&M do then? Fair's fair
FYI Zara etc do represent the king at times because they attend royal golden parties at the request of William. That has happened on a number of times
I would imagine they all receive allowances from Charles anyway.
It's all half in half out AFAIC. They all trade on their royal connections. Peter Phillips advertising milk to the Chinese with the background of a Palace and footman bowing and serving him milk is not cashing in? Give over lol

If you cannot see the difference, I am sorry, but there is one—and a very significant one at that. A working royal is not a private citizen; they have a public role.
Zara does not attend official events. Ascot, Christmas at Sandringham—these are private family events, even if some parts of them take place in the public eye.
And "imagining" that they receive money from the King is not a fact; it is an assumption.
Attending an event—even an official one—as a guest does not constitute representing the King. To represent him means to act on his behalf, and Zara has never done that.

It’s not half in half out if they’re not working royals - that’s the half in bit. There’s no need to worry about H+M manoeuvring themselves into HIHO, they never will, because they’ll never be working royals. As they said themselves when they came back, they are private citizens who do not undertake royal duties. So they’re free to make a living however they want. Sure, the only reason anyone has heard of Meghan’s business is because of who she married but she can’t help that. They wanted financial independence, the RF wanted to downsize, everybody wins.

@simpsonthecat
Sorry for the repeated phrase.

Wow you are full blown conspiracy theorist. It was a teenager who used one of the charities and young adults on the streets outside waiting to see them. A local main road was blocked by people trying to see them.

Personal attack again ? It's obvious you didn't see the film footage then 🤷‍♀️

MeghanAndTheSeals · 16/10/2026 13:50

Oh yes, SO many people - they were mobbed, struggled to make their way through greeting everyone. FYI - the crowd on the right is press/media.

Oh! That's not much of a crowd is it ?

You clearly didn't watch or understand that Oprah interview 🙄

There’s watching, understanding and then there is wilfully sticking your head in the sand!

jeffgoldblum · Yesterday 00:09

Have we had Peter Phillips and the milk add yet?

AnAutumnCrow · Yesterday 00:10

A local main road was blocked by people trying to see them.

Wasn’t that blocked by a plastic chair with a home-made sign on it? It was all written about in the Nottingham Post, in a piece by the editor who was there on the day. Good article. She thought it was all futile.

Indeed! The actual pictures are far more illuminating!

Zara does not attend official events. Ascot, Christmas at Sandringham—these are private family events, even if some parts of them take place in the public eye.

A royal Garden party, where members of the public are invited to attend, to gawp at members of the rf is not a private family event. And she has represented the royal family alongside William and Sophie at these on a number of occasions

To represent him means to act on his behalf, and Zara has never done that

See above. She does not attend these as a member of the public. She attends these as a member of the royal family representing them. I can dig out some pictures if you like! She looked very nice last time, I think she was in pale blue.

And you think sitting in a horse drawn carriage parading up the length of Ascot racecourse along with other royals is a private family event?

i don’t follow your reasoning here. Stanley Tucci has sat in a horse drawn carriage parading the length of Ascot. Is he also representing the King? Or is he the King’s private guest enjoying his hospitality? I think it’s obviously the latter. Zara and Mike are no different.

All I have to say is...they need to up their security, there were a hell of a lot of gatecrashers at their 'private family event' also known as a Royal Garden party 😅

I think the security is fine, it's regularly reviewed by RAVEC. My aunt went to a garden party, (she runs a charity) she was checked before she went in.

Edited

Ascot and Buckingham Palace garden parties, both attended by Zara, are not private family events.

Heads of business, heads of the armed forces, and entrepreneurs are invited to both,
who are not personal friends of the RF.

They are very much not private occasions either.

Serenster · Yesterday 07:48

And the garden party I attended had foreign ambassadors present too.

So you have just answered your own question surely - the invitation list for Garden Paries is clearly wider than “Royals representing the King” and “people invited purely as members of the public”.

Yes, it's deliberately a very broad ranging event, lots of community representatives, people working for all sorts of organisations. It's just a big get together, I'm sure there are other things which could be criticised, this seems pretty harmless to me!

Exactly!
Zara attends as a member of the royal family representing them, alongside Sophie and William and at one point, the Yorks
It's not a private family event. It is an official by invitation event attended by members of the armed forces, volunteers, representatives of different charities and organizations

I am certainly not criticising it. There was a poster on here once who was attending and very excited. I am only pointing out it is not a private family event.

Obviously not. A pp insisted Zara did not attend official events, only private family events and I was only pointing out that the royal garden parties she attends are not private family events but it is an official royal event. I have said all this previously, you must have missed it

Oh yes I did. No wonder I was confused!
Yes, you're right, they're not private.
