Concerns about William and Catherine's friendship with Tom Cruise

Palace are reported to be concerned about Catherine and Williams growing friendship with tom cruise. They are concerned about them being recruited into Scientology.

Now I hope, that there is no realistic chance that they could be recruited into Scientology. But even having a future king and queen who are sympathetic to scientologists could help this cult. I do believe that Tom Cruise is becoming very friendly to Catherine and William to benefit Scientology in whatever way he can.

I'm wondering whether the USA has an equivalent of Mumsnet and they are having an interesting conversation about Tom Cruise's friendship with William & Catherine being concerning as they are trying to convert him to the Church of England . . . .

Oh I thought she looked a bit old fashioned in the purple gown, it was a bit billowy and very staid. I don't think purple looks great on her as much as other colours like yellow, green and blue (as well as black & white). She did look fabulous at the Mission Impossible premier in a black gown with a white trim. I do think Tom Cruise is rather taken with her...

And I do think that there may be some credence to this issue as it is thought that Scientology wanted Tom Cruise to recruit the Beckhams, but they were having none of it. It is a very greedy and dark organisation, full of delusional beliefs and control. Why is it beyond the realms of possiblity that they would try and rehabilitate themselves using Tom Cruise, their no 1 star celebrity?

What's that got to do with William and Catherine though? They meet all sorts of people through their work. It doesn't mean they're ripe for conversion to some weird cult, especially as their role specifically requires them to be members of the Church of England.

Also, other than a handful of joint appearances at official events, have they actually spent any time with Cruise?

I don't think that you can call 'it is thought' something to base credence on. I mean, if Tom Cruise had approached the Beckhams it would be all over the Mail site, because that family is worse than the Sussexes for over sharing mind-numbing minutiae of their lives in that particular paper.

I don't think anyone is being unnecessarily nasty. The problem is that OP's theory that Tom Cruise is trying to convert William and Catherine to Scientology is weird and not just weird but downright idiotic. Sorry if that sounds nasty, but it is an objectively idiotic (and that's putting it mildly) suggestion.

I'm not sure Cruise is even a personal friend of the Walses. They simply went to the premiere of his most recent movie because it was filmed and produced in the UK and they were supporting the British film industry.

But, let's say OP does have a point, then it's quite heroic of her/him to be warning us of the impending conversion of the next head of state to Scientology. I mean, Cruise doesn't appear to have converted any other famous person to Scientology. But, just in case he's managing to entice people as level-headed and mentally solid as William and Catherine, we should be on the lookout for traces of Scientological tenets in their behaviour and the things they say. Thanks OP for warning us of this potentially impending scandal of the conversion of the heir to the throne by Tom Cruise!

I guess Harry was right to be so dismissive of John Travolta. Travolta was clearly trying to convert Diana to Scientology when he danced with her.
