Hello is reporting that Catherine has donated to the Just giving page of the young boy she met on her climb. I really hope that others have done the same considering how widely that footage has been spread.

It was me. Posted in good faith, and I apologise for the furore it’s caused. It was on Instagram in amongst videos and other photos, including those of Catherine with the little boy, Ted. I didn’t look closely enough, just thought it was a sweet photo. On closer inspection I see it now. But I assure you I didn’t post it to derail or incite any negativity.

I do think when a couple who earn £24m a year want to raise money for a charitable cause, there shouldn’t be so much shock that many people think that as well as asking other, poorer people to fund that charity, those rich people should donate themselves.

Yes, it's not down t' mines, working 25 hours a day, 8 days a week with only 20 minutes off for Christmas Day on a leap year like you do... but whether you like it or not she does go to and does work. 🤷

We already know she donated to the little boys charity... So it's likely they privately donated to others...

But she has donated. We don’t know how much she’s given or how many people she’s sponsored, but I suspect you’d be the first to accuse her of being performative and vulgar if she announced every donation publicly. She cannot win!

They’ve announced significant donations in the past.

Given the how recently the news about the sovereign grant was announced, the palace must have been expecting it to look a bit tacky/crass for a senior royal to be asking for money right now. Revealing her own donation would have taken the edge off that.

She may well have donated to other charities over the years, and not wanted to be publicly linked to them, but she’s choosing to linked to this one, if there was a donation, it would be announced. Letting the news trickle out later won’t help in the same way.

No it wouldn’t, it would just be another stick to beat her with because whatever it was wouldn’t be enough for some.

Maybe she did it like a sponsored walk and had her in laws chip in -royal ones annd non royal ones including Pippa’s billionaire DH.

I assume only if they want to claim some sort of tax rebate? Otherwise, you can donate privately without any documentation.

The woman has done a fundraising walk which has done exactly what it needed to do. It was fine without fanfare and has hugely raised the profile of the charity she's choosing to support. She may or may not have privately donated....

What more do you want from her?
