Apparently Fergie had a FWB relationship with P Diddy for many years who talked about ‘slamming’ her and said he couldn’t wait until her daughters came of age ! She really is a total disgrace

Does he bollocks. His qualifications do not stop him being a hyperbolic muck raker.

What is it that makes you think this is hyperbole? I'm all for not thinking the worst of people, but a) neither Andrew nor Sarah's track record makes me feel they are being unfairly presented in a bad light, and b) others have said Lownie has documented his sources. So if you have reasons or evidence to counter this and support the idea that he's just 'muck raking' it would be good to know what they are.

A question for those who have Lownie's book:

Does he have reference numbers and footnotes, to link his assertions to sources?

Yes. He admits some were not prepared to go on record so not always a name. In that sense you have to trust Lownie (but personally I do - he has tried in previous books eg the MountBattens FOI requests etc - I think he's credible)

This from memory. I have the Kindle version. The book itself ends at 60 ish % of the way through. The rest is acknowledgements and Indexed references / footnotes. A crude measure I know 😊

bluegreygreen · 09/05/2026 12:38

Thanks @BasiliskStare - that's good to know.

(You know why I didn't buy the book; the reason I asked this question was that a review on Amazon said otherwise.)

A question for those who have Lownie's book:

Does he have reference numbers and footnotes, to link his assertions to sources?

From page 11 to 15 (5 pages) he has listed all those he spoke to who were happy to be quoted. From diplomats to many military personnel, to those in the Yorks social circle to those involved at Pitch@ Palace, to those in Azerbaijan to publishers for Sarah's books, to very many charities she was involved in, to lawyers they have had dealings with and more

No there isn't a footnote at every page but all those he has listed he has explained what they spoke to him about

bluegreygreen · 09/05/2026 13:05

Thanks @simpsonthecat.

So each story he tells has a clear source, even if the name is withheld?

LBFseBrom · 09/05/2026 03:22

I've always known the HateMail s a scurrilous rag but now they really are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Lownie is in the wings, poised to pounce with his 'sources close to' and 'royal insiders'.

They disgust me more than Fergie.

What gets me is some people believe it all - they want to believe it, swallow it whole, enjoy thinking the worst of people.

Surely they could get sued massively for slander if there weren’t some truth to it? Can’t believe those being surprised she is a man hungry fame seeking trollop Epstein is a true indication of this? Give yer heads a wobble . Anyone would think she’d been a saint ! The toe sucking debarcle was bad enough and Philip absolutely hated her. Why else was she banned from being around her own kids on Xmas day they all know what she is like .

Hard to say. I imagine so but who knows. The book is very detailed in places and I wouldn't know what the source was for a particular paragraph for instance

wordler · 09/05/2026 15:02

Hard to imagine what it was like growing up with parents like this.

I imagine it was totally chaotic

I do think B&E refusing to let their finances be audited , in the circs , was a mistake

https://www.dailymail.com/news/royals/article-15807937/beatrice-eugenie-andrew-fergie-operation-renounce-titles-andrew-lownie.html

I think we can draw our own conclusions from their refusal to allow an audit but I do think the conflicting reports about who is and isn't onboard with any future role are interesting.

The overwhelming and entirely unedifying impression is that the whole lot fight like rats in a sack behind the scenes 🐀

HasDepth · 12/05/2026 21:14

So one was sleeping with whomever he could, but the other was opening her legs to whomever was willing to come....these poor girls must have seen horrible stuff going on next door bedroom

Overtheatlantic · 12/05/2026 21:26

Christ, could you be any more vulgar?

TightlyLacedCorset · 12/05/2026 22:50

Quite honestly Fergie looks quite good in that photo. Relaxed. Her pedicure looks well done. Her tan is nice. She looks genuinely happy. Eugene looks a bit apprehensive about being photographed, but it would be a nice photo if it didn't also include a celeb recently jailed for sex trafficking. I wonder if she told him any secrets?

I'm not sure that I believe she was sleeping with Diddy, reading the article it comes from the word of mouth of two anonymous people, one a 'former employee' of P Diddy another 'someone working in the industry' it is dubious to say the least.

I wouldn't completely put it past her though. But it's interesting to consider it might be true.

It's making me look at Fergie again. What is it that she has that enables her to charm so many people - particularly men in this case - that they are willing to lavish her with funds and furnish her with so many extravagant good times? She's not a classic English Rose like Jemima Khan or a renowned beauty. She must have a really charming personality. She is attractive. She must apply it very well.

Diddy particularly is known for a vicious temper and Andrew, as we all know, is thoroughly boorish and unpleasant, and Epstein didn't suffer fools, yet she managed to keep on extremely friendly terms with all of them and procure expensive grace and favour for years from each of them and I'm sure they're not the total sum of the wealthy male benefactors she has had over the years, or still has.

It needs examining. What peculiar quality does Fergie possess? We're clearly overlooking it. We concentrated on Diana, the slim, striking, statuesque blonde and dismissed Fergie, by comparison the plainer, shorter, one with 'weight issues'

But Fergie clearly has magnetism in abundance. Is she a consummate seductress? That's an interesting idea.

Lownie's biography is important, but I think Fergie should have a good female historian do her life. A woman's angle on her life would be an interesting read.

On the male forum Pistonheads, I've noticed quite on few posters have mentioned finding Fergie attractive in the 80s and 90s. She seemed vital and lively in the public eye back then, I suppose....And yes, she must be charming in some way probably...

I'm sure her connections did make her attractive to Epstein & the others though.

HE talked about their sex life. HE was perving on her underage daughters. Why is SHE getting the bad rap for having a sex life she managed to keep private from her end?

That's interesting about men finding her lively and engaging. And she has always been attractive with a luscious curvy figure, though this was seen as undesirable at the time she married Andrew. In the 80s and 90s the skinny 'heroin chic' look was in. The press seemed to enjoy commenting negatively on Fergie's weight and comparing her unfavourably to Diana at every turn and red heads do receive a lot of bias, so her own shine was overlooked I guess.

No doubt you're 100% correct that her connections and networking potential are a massive draw and incentive, but there has to be something else in addition. She must also be in possession of something...fascinating? Beguiling? Intriguing? Something indefinable. I can't see her connections being of much use to someone like Diddy.

simpsonthecat · 13/05/2026 04:45

I remember her doing a guest spot on This Morning on ITV and god she was irritating! Very gushing and vacuous but I'm female and I just can't imagine her appeal to men.
