I think you misunderstood- I’m not suggesting they don’t do family days out as well as formal engagements - I’m saying they should not do formal engagements ever with the children until they are adults. That because they do formal engagements with the children, they haven’t a leg to stand on about respecting the children’s privacy re pap photos in public spaces while on private family trips out.
Because they take the children to formal events and regularly release photos of them, the public know that the children look like, and so more likely to be photographed by the public /press out and about. Because we know what the children look like, they are less safe than children of celebrities who aren’t easily recognisable.
A rule of thumb, if William and Catherine would list an event as a work engagement on their list of official events, not a family trip, then the children shouldn’t be there. If they would put out information to the press about their attendance in advance, the children shouldn’t be there.
Yes, the future King could be “hidden away” (or just not do any “work”) until an adult. If it was highly likely he might be the King before 18, then there would be an argument for training him early. But that’s not the case here.
This argument doesn’t apply for the younger Royal children.
