PR Disasters of the The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued :

  • So far we have Meg using charity events/sick children/vulnerable adults to merch her fashion, with the launch of her new fashion platform
  • She will be appearing on MasterChef Australia
  • Harry claiming to have had therapy when Archie was born, even though he never sought MH help for his ill wife a few short months earlier.

Oh the BBC loves the victim narrative, alright. Even if the victims are two of the most privileged adults on the planet who are constantly telling us their current lives are amazing - but only after having a good moan for monetary gain.

AtIusvue · 19/04/2026 08:43

Now I’m not one for the whole body language analysis stuff…but my god, if looks could kill…she is raging. Also, look at Harry, as soon as his shoulder is touched he reaches out his hand without looking…like he’s been trained by Meg.

Who is the woman? Is this the woman that worked for Bill Gates? I honestly don’t know who is left that works for them

Moment Meghan Markle appears to GLARE at an adviser

For longer than a second, Meghan Markle's warm facial expression dropped.

Apologies if this has been posted already but this did make me snort.

Sitting in a pink armchair on a stage resembling a daytime television set, the Duchess posed a question to the assembled women: 'I've spent all my life investing in women, can I finally invest in me?'

Also another good point, why was Harry and another man at the woman's only retreat?

The trouble is, their rumoured 120k of appearance fees are a trick that needs repeating many, many times to meet their annual costs. And how often can they realistically play the "playbook" a year? Maybe 3 max, if anyone wants them.

The positive review of the event had a strong whiff of paid for bullshit, but I would say that there's a type of woman I know who's had a hard life, and whose reaction is to overempathise with women they perceived as having similar challenges.

Problem is, they tend not to have loads of cash.

I suspect some of the "mother daughter" attendees tickets were paid by for the mums.

I think you are right about the over empathetic audience. Unfortunately, those types of people, and women in particular, are prey to the predatory sensibilities of narcissists. Every cult and MLM works the same, aspirational model. And actually, I wonder if Meghan took Harry with her as a symbol of her superiority over these women. “I’m not a sad sack like you desperately looking for some meaning in my life. Look, I have it all, I have a prince!”

Got to love the nonsensical word salad 😂

If M was paid £120,000 and H £50,000 did the flights , hotel , private security etc have to be paid from that or was someone else funding “ expenses”?
The reports I have read suggest M spent less than an hour at the event .

Why is it that the pair of them hugging people all the time is seen as such a positive? I don't WANT to be hugged by strangers and especially not by someone with the scary rictus smile plastered on their face that Meghan adopted for this whole trip. I would find it invasive and uncomfortable.

Yes, that's always struck me as very invasive, and I certainly wouldn't welcome it. I hope they check beforehand.

It's like Elsie Tanner on the cobbles, "he's mine, ladeh!"

BBC:

‘But social media has also been useful to the pair - their "@sussexroyal" Instagram account has 8.7 million followers. Such a platform could prove increasingly useful with the couple now open about seeking new opportunities since their deals with Spotify and Netflix ended.’

I thought they weren’t allowed use sussexroyal?
Is this them testing the boundaries of the Sandringham summit again? I had seen online that it had been tagged multiple times during the trip but I really didn’t think much of it, but reading the bbc article it looks like it was part of a PR plan.

Bloody hell KC, rein them in! If the BBC are talking about them using it…it must be true that this is their new strategy.

You are correct - they no longer use Sussexroyal. It got shuttered when they left on early 2020, and though you can still visit the page there is no activity on it.

It does rather illustrate the issue they face though - it still shows the 8.7m followers they had as working royals. Meghan’s own page now has just over half of that at 4.5m and As Ever has just 879k followers. Despite their best efforts, their influence is in decline. I can see they want to “claim” those xtra million followers from Sussex Royal though, if they can.

As far as the Australia tour goes, while they claim it as a successful blueprint for future tours - well, maybe, and the fact that they could pull on the memory of them touring there as royals helped, but where would they go? So far Nigeria, Colombia, Australia and Canada (as part of the Invictus Games) but where else would rec recreate what thy liked about Australia? They can’t just keep going back to Australia. New Zealand are Jamaica are much smaller, and the other countries where Charles is still Head of State are all small islands. Then they just rattle around the Commonwealth and UN members randomly?

Jellybelly80 · 19/04/2026 09:04

I thought she looked confused in that video as in what’s going on and all became clear when the aid then pointed to people up above them. I didn’t see the rage.

MissFenellaPrism · 19/04/2026 09:09

Thanks for the figures, @Serenster . Their star is definitely waning. I've no idea what "tour" they'll do next.

MissFenellaPrism · 19/04/2026 09:10

Well spotted, @AtIusvue . The minute that woman touches Harry's back, he holds his hand out to be held.

It’s a power play. Puts the recipient on the back foot and pre-loads their perception that the hugger is a warm and interested person, even if their subsequent behaviour belies this. It’s also territorial.

Oh yes. You're cold and aloof if you're not a hugger!

He'll be raging someone filmed him from behind lol. I can't believe he had the cheek to comment about Williams baldness in his book. At least William just got rid of it all rather than continue with the pretense

Quite. He was so juvenile about William's baldness. Hubris.

Barking Good Boy GIF

Like a good dog.

HoldMyWine · 19/04/2026 09:59

If Harry was a woman there would be real concerns that he was a victim of controlling and coercive behaviour.

corblimeygvnr · 19/04/2026 10:11

In that clip we see Meghan when she has difficulty adjusting to the unexpected moment - a break from what she sees in her head and has planned. She needs obsessive control over situations. This happens and suddenly there is a malfunction- the irritation, the seeing of a possible threat to her territory and the resultant death stare. It's the same look she gave to her mother when Doria spoke unexpectedly. The social face of Meghan drops for a second as she struggles to assess what is happening. When I see that it is a very scary thing. Can you imagine this directed at you?

In fairness it's only a snap, though I do agree it happens a lot when it's "someone else's turn", but as for Harry reacting to a touch, who's to say it's not a result of Meghan's controlling narrative that she needs him to protect her?

Sobbing on the floor, the don't let go of me/I've got you on the walkabout with W&K, the claim of you rescued me on Oprah and all the rest ... her acting isn't in the Meryl Streep category, but Harry's probably dim enough to fall for it

Can I suggest this for you?
