Oh god and someone behind hiding their face.

Quite it looks like another woman has just turned her back as well ( kneeling / crouching just behind M). I wonder if the hospital think the visit was an unmitigated success. Lots of publicity though for sure.

If I remember correctly H&M have got in first and already dumped the childrens online safety charity ‘Parents Network’ that they made such a song and dance about launching. They told some disingenuous lies that offloading the PN was within their standard process of incubating charities and moving them on - which they had not done with any other charity before or since.

The PN has been absorbed into one of the other existing parent campaign groups, yes (because the PN wasn’t an original idea or indeed, H&M’s idea); however they are still putting themselves out there as child online safety advocates and were crowing about the recent court victory in the US against Meta. I am pretty sure Harry will continue to get speaking gigs on the topic, from the idiots who keep paying him to spout hypocritical word salad. Exploiting his own kids hasn’t stopped this from happening, I doubt their allies and supporters care about kids overseas they exploit.

Just to return to reality, this photo is definitely not AI.

Neither subject looks happy.

Spa weekends - or even days- figure very high in my 'List of of holidays and breaks which must never be booked'.

My idea of hell.

DD went on a surfing and yoga retreat in Morocco after spitting up with her BF. She had a fab time, learnt to stand up surf. enjoyed the company of the group. Raved about the food - the place posts on instagram and it looks gorgeous. Not sure how much she paid but it was for a week and included flights and transfers and I guarantee it will have come in substantially less than this Best life weekend as she’s very careful with money.

I know. It's because I bathe in the blood of republicans.

Bathing in monarchist asses' milk stains the towels far less I find.

Mymanyellow · 14/04/2026 20:54

I’m actually shocked at that photo of that young lad with no pj top on. Who the hell thinks that’s in any way appropriate. Parents, hospital or those two clowns must see how wrong that is.

Joining a bit late, but why does she stick with those sludgy brown colours that don't suit her? She looks so much better in bright colours.

OTOH Harold's sludge brown shirt is a rare hit here.

Disconcerting 🙃

My favourite quote today was someone commenting on how one

‘has to admire the couple for fleeing the spotlight only to pursue it with Olympic determination ever since”

I really, really hope that in future, every time Harry and Meghan start wanging on about the importance of online privacy, they are reminded of today's grotesque images of Meghan exploiting children with cancer.

They can't possibly think it's ok to have a vulnerable young child who can't consent being photographed in that state of undress. Surely? Surely that doesn't require guidance? Surely you overrule the ill-advised parents in this instance? H&M are parents and supposed advocates for online child safety. They shouldn't need to have an adviser telling them this is all kinds of wrong.

Edited

I'm not convinced they think at all, Indianrollerbird - at least, not beyond "Oooo look, a photo opportunity!!"

Unfortunately this shows their utter inadequacy in everything, from running anything to speeches, but most of all it shows their complete unsuitability for any kind of public life

I did a yoga and skiing one in my 20s, skied all mornjng, yoga in the afternoon, lovely fun group meals. It was a lot of fun - just women apart from the yoga teacher who was a very attractive guy!

They left the uk and burnt their bridges, for what? To be doing the exact same thing as when they married, but with less support. How can they not see it? Bizarre.

I see your point but I think they think they've actually got the HIHO they were refused. So in addition to having feted visits as they would have done , they can also advertise M's clothes , get paid for speeches etc. The trouble being without the support they're just not very good at it ( which I suspect I'm more convinced of that than they are. ) It will be interesting to see how well this whole thing is received and thought of by the end of it.

Papercompany · 14/04/2026 21:53

The whole idea of being photographed with sick children is really strange... I never questioned it before now but it's so odd. What is the point?! And I absolutely hate the photo of M with her hands on that small frightened looking child.

OctopusFriend · 14/04/2026 21:54

I think it's part of the awful Diana cosplay.

This one - it's horrifying. That poor child. For some reason it reminds me of WW2 photos where people were being shamed by their persecutors.

OMG this photo is horrific - it reminds me of the photos of that small child who was held hostage by Saddam Hussain as a human shield at the start of the Gulf War

But they don’t have the taxpayer funded security they thought they would have .
Nor access to the Royal events they thought they would still be invited to .

wordler · 14/04/2026 22:07

It’s odd when anyone Royal or celebrity does a hospital visit without a specific reason.

The celebs who go to lift spirits and entertain in costumes and in character make sense.

Someone like Diana and Princess Margaret making private visits to the Lighthouse to comfort and try to cheer up AIDS patients.

Those visits make sense and are also usually kept private at the time.

The head of state or his representatives visiting the injured after disaster or attack makes sense as it’s making sure those victims are heard and seen to be important to the government.

Royals and other celebs doing hospital visits for specific patronage and a specific awareness raising visit also make sense - William with emergency personnel and the people they save, Kate at the Marsden especially after her recent cancer treatment etc.

When abroad the royals’ agenda is set by the government of the home country so a hospital visit would have a specific purpose to the host country.

Random celebs arranging to meet sick kids in a hospital lobby for absolutely no reason at all apart from a photo op is beyond bizarre.

Back in the 1980s, a visit from Diana to people with taboo illnesses was almost like a visit from an angel. It hadn’t been done before, a beloved public figure being so intimate and openly tactile with a patient who would ordinarily be shut away as per the sensibilities of the times. She was a taboo breaker. She wasn’t doing it for self publicity or admiration, she didn’t need to. Meghan and Harry are not doing any of this from compassion. They are poor imitators. In Harry’s case, I think he sees it as his “right” because his mother did it. Meghan is just pathetic in her cos play. Neither seem to understand times have moved on, and what was genuinely needed and authentically done 40 years ago to shake societal strictures now just looks like exploitation and a breach of safeguarding.

BasiliskStare · 14/04/2026 22:13

Oh @OctopusFriend and @Mylovelygreendress I agree they were better off before , but this faux touring whilst earning cash is what they were asking for. & they've got it. Whether it was worth the candle & whether they are better off completely different matter. However M doesn't have to walk behind Kate and that surely is priceless. 😉
