I was a bit surprised to learn J P Morgan have paid him $1m to discuss his dead mother and whine about his royal grievances, I couldn't imagine many of the audience would be remotely interested. It makes more sense he just went totally rogue. But then if he had agreed a topic and then completely ignored it, wasn't he in breach of contract? Surely if you hire someone to talk about something, they can't just wang on about something else entirely and still get paid? One of my close friends is often paid to give speeches about sustainable energy, I'll have to ask what would happen if she just started bleating on about her familial relationships instead 🤔

This is absolutely bizarre. Why on earth would they pay this to listen to him discuss "mum, accountability, etc" or whatever he rattles on about.

Starryfifty · 08/04/2026 20:30

He's getting paid to speak about mental health in the workplace. He has never actually been in a workplace. This is absurd

Just been listening to this by Tom Bower. Apparently they weren’t paid for the OW interview but Harry was paid £500k for the JPM gig shortly after and the implication was that the money was in lieu for the OW interview. No idea why.

I reckon they wanted to be able to say they weren't taking money in exchange for criticising H's family. So, instead of giving them money for the interview, she (OW) gave it to JP Morgan to give to them, apparently for a talk that can have been of no professional use and likely little personal interest to the conference delegates.

The OW interview was the first time they properly spoke since they left and was specifically about them leaving. Everything else I can think of, like the Netflix documentary and Spare, ostensibly had a different purpose (telling their 'love story' (remember when they loved presenting as love's young dream?) or autobiography).

I thought it was sold out and waitlist only?

I think it was Meghan's event that claim was made about? (And I don't believe that either)

It's also not really clear what it consists of anyway. Some mention a Q&A session, but then that those who've paid more will get a "fireside chat", so what are they going to do ... ask those in the cheap seats to leave?

It's only 10 days until we'll find out, but it certainly promises to be entertaining

Edited to add a lot of things were claimed around the Oprah interview @Not2identifying, among them that H&M had no idea what questions would be asked - as if
When you add the faked media headlines, the obvious lies and the (unaddressed) mismatch between their accounts to all the rest it's no wonder Oprah's had it hidden

It would be interesting if they also invited some of his previous employees to speak.

Ah yes that makes perfect sense

Yes, it's very weird.

Perhaps they just assumed that he would be savvy enough to come up with an appropriate speech, but then found out they'd overestimated him?

Or he may have just felt that he could talk about anything that he found interesting, and everyone else would find it interesting as well? If the payment was really redirected from the Oprah Winfrey interview, then he may have reckoned it was "earned" already, so no need to put in extra work; he might as well rehash the same themes from the interview.

The Army is a workplace, but it was a LONG time ago!

PH employees have reported thru numerous investigations that some employees needed to seek professional support to repair the MH issues caused by the belittling and bullying behaviour whilst working for H&M.

Meg still pretending that she is keeping As ever going…

This is her latest photo on Insta

Ah yes, that well-known marketing technique of posting photos with the subject blurred and the dishwasher in full-focus...or am I missing something?! I mean, I know nothing about marketing beyond what I've learnt as an entrepreneur ("female founder"!) but I think even I could frame the shot better so the blurred subject stands out against the background.

I just don't understand how that image is being used as a marketing shot. I mean, I can, because she probably doesn't have many we haven't already seen to choose from but...I agree. This is not the marketing of a successful, trading business. This is MM posting photos herself to try and shift stock.

Nothing wrong with that but as someone with wealth and amazing opportunities and previously a while team of staff, I just feel she could have done more.

Word on X is that £100k worth of tickets for Meg’s event remains unsold, and that they are taking a film crew with them to make the trip like a ‘ reality television show’. How much longer do we have to wait?!

Well I seen yesterday, that a previous retreat weekend planned by Gemma O’Neill, this time was in fiji 2023, was actually cancelled because there wasn’t enough ticket sales.

When this event was first announced, lots of people said there was Fyre festival vibes. Looks like it could be a complete disaster.

This whole ‘other Mums being intimidated by Meghan’ seems like a stolen story. Recently a Hollywood actress (cannot remember who) told a story on a talk show about being scared of Adele at the school gates and needing to talk to her about some school event and a few of the mums nominating Reece Witherspoon to approach Adele about this school matter because everyone was so in awe of Adele (but not so much Reece Witherspoon who is apparently very approachable and just one of the mums).

You folks will believe anything and when the claims never materialise, it’s onto the next deranged nonsense.

Isn’t that fairly standard.

DCs were at school with DCs of very famous footballers (yes our school had more than one), the dads did a lot of drop offs..,

id no idea who one was, when I was chatting to him (our DCs were in same class), I came home and told dh I’d been talking to the mum and her dh, who was very tall, named XX and Dh hyperventilated. Don’t you know who that is, etc. no I don’t care! 🙄😬🤣

A story that has been told multiple times by multiple women in Hollywood - so claim they all stole it from each other, just utterly unserious takes 🙄

Well there are tickets availible to Megs event next week on the HBL website. If this was so popular wouldn't these have been snapped up by now?

I would be surprised if Meghan actually does the school run and if she does , she will wait in her chauffeur driven car .
Given her admission that she gave a goodies bag to her security guard to give to a homeless man ( that is such a cringe story) I wouldn’t expect M to mingle with ordinary parents.

corblimeyguvnr · 09/04/2026 09:24

Well at least she has plenty of left over jam to send out now as a freebie to Suits actor Patrick Adams after he said in a podcast he had never received any jam 😂

On no - I really hope it isn’t cancelled because think of all the entertaining nonsense shenanigans and word salad baloney we would miss out on. I’m so here for the laughs at these ridiculous buffoons who inadvertently serve up their delusional pantomime for ridicule. It’s pure delight to watch the slow car crash that is the downfall of these two nasty grandiose donkeys.

My nephew plays on the same kids league as the Rooney kids, and to give Rooney some not-often-deserved credit, he's great with all the little boys who are so excited to meet him, and the other footballer dads are much more aloof.

It was an anecdote told by Sarah Michelle Gellar on a chat show recently
