Why would you do that?

It shows how risky it is to put these things out on social media with current technology - the same tech Harry and Meghan preach about. All for what?

I be posting pictures of my DC on a private account if I didn’t want public comment.

So you agree that Meghan and Harry are wrong to put these photos out in public ?

Yes, I think anyone putting photos of their kids out in public is wrong. I can’t understand why anyone would do it.

But OP has lied about it being a full face and your behaviour using AI to try to create her full face is beyond weird. I don’t understand why anyone normal person would behave that way. We all know what AI can do, we all know there are sickos out there, but why would you do this?

MatForCat · 15/02/2026 17:43

It’s not a full face. Do you need to go to Specsavers OP?

I wish they wouldn’t post any photos though. All children should have privacy and not be put online. We need laws to protect children from this being as so many parents seem incapable of safeguarding their children.

I agree that is very strange to make an AI image of a child’s face@mypinkdog. No need for that at all, Shame on anyone posting photos of their children but shame on you for using AI to do this.

SixSevenShutUp · 15/02/2026 09:18

Oh dear, maybe a trip to your GP for a memory test might help?

Perhaps this is the new script.

Or an old one revamped. " We never made a big deal about posting pictures of our children! That was the British Press."

Well her face is pretty clear to me. You can see she looks a lot like her mum, same nose. She looks very sweet. It’s not that they’re posting photos of Lillibeth it’s the fact they have made such a big deal about not posting photos of their children.

If you look at Harry’s nose and meghans nose in profile, they are both exactly the same, they have perfectly matching noses

Thedom · 15/02/2026 18:08

It’s a bit like how she launched her jams, a teaser there, a corner here, another corner there, until the full Ta-Da reveal.

IAmATorturedPoet · 15/02/2026 19:06

Statements made by Harry and Meghan at the Healthy Minds Gala at the end of last year:

“We have witnessed the explosion of unregulated artificial intelligence, heard more and more stories from heartbroken families, and watched parents all over the world become increasingly concerned about their children's digital lives”
Duke of Sussex

Meghan added that the couple often discussed how they would protect their own children, six-year-old Archie and Lili, four, as they grow older.
“Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers,” the duchess said.

🙄🙄

Why are you lying OP? It’s the usual side of her face which is still too much but it’s not her full face.

Harry warns about dangers of posting pics of kids online
Archive link (Sun) https://archive.is/AVG43

This was his appearance on the Hasan Minhaj podcast - just after the children were on Meghan's Instagram for Hallowe'en.

Minhaj asked for his thoughts on images online being manipulated with AI and whether parents should post photos of their children online.
“Parents can do whatever they want,” Harry responded.
“But from what I’ve seen, what I’ve heard, what I’ve experienced, is you should be really really worried, concerned and cautious about putting photographs of your kids online."

Edit for punctuation

Yes.

They acknowledge the danger
They give speeches about the danger
And yet they make a choice to publicly expose their own children to it.

People posting in a tiz about the picture are conveniently missing the point.

Time and again M&H show they are hypocrites.

They are hypocrites and shit parents for posting photos of their children online, but to post an AI photo like the pp has is also a shitty thing to do. Who the fuck would do that?

It might just have been a crass error of judgement in which case they could ask to have it deleted?

YourBreezyPanda · 15/02/2026 09:16

when did they ever make a big deal about posting their children?

Didn't Harry make a tearful speech as recently as 3 days ago about the dangers of allowing children on social media?

But obviously it's OK for influencers with jam to sell.... 🙄

As an exercise to make a point?

I was quite taken aback by the results and very relieved that I never posted any pics of my DC on SM.

You’re both kinda right. It is just the side of her face, but it also gives a much better idea of what she actually looks like than previous pictures did.

canklesmctacotits · 15/02/2026 20:44

Yes of course it’s hypocritical but actually I’m wondering what the point is. Truthfully, the same goes for anyone posting pictures of their children online for all and sundry to see (ie people outside of a closed, friends and family only page). Why do people do it? Influencers and instagrammers and whoever else? If it’s in order to earn money, Harry and Meghan have enough not to have to sell their children. If it’s to be famous, there are few more instantly recognizable people in the western world than them. If it’s to start building a future for their children, doesn’t that remove agency from them in exactly the same way Harry says made him a Spare? If it’s to illustrate that they’re a happy family, well we all know that the happiest families are the ones that don’t need to show it. What other reason could there be? After YEARS of back-of-the-head photos, why now start showing more?

To me it smacks of Meghan (I think Harry has too much baggage and does genuinely want privacy) being knee deep in the celebrity game, more than many other equally high profile women. It’s just tacky putting up photos of your tiny cute children, desperate for likes, living for the here and now, taking what you can while you can and letting the future be a problem for the future. Cheap and tacky.

That’s an excuse. We know what AI can do and if the poster wanted to make a point they could have just explained how dangerous it was due to AI being able to attempt to construct a full face from a side photo. They didn’t need to actually do it. You would have to have to have questionable morals to do that with a child’s photo,

WhyIsTheDogOnTheRoof · 15/02/2026 20:58

Anyway, I reported and it been deleted now so mumsnet obviously agreed it was inappropriate to post AI images of children. Hardly surprising. Thanks MNHQ.
