It just keeps getting worse for her.

A grifter that’s why.

ShamedBySiri · 13/02/2026 14:14

Apparently the palace was only prepared to offer her a two bedroom cottage on the Windsor estate with an outside bathroom which sounds extreme to me but given how careful Lownie has been in his research in general I believe him.
She therefore declined and rented a much bigger house.

Everyone says Lownie researches well so it must be true but this I simply can’t believe. Perhaps some idle gossip said “They literally practically offered her a hovel…” and he is repeating it as gospel. Two bedrooms and an outside bathroom? It’s really hardly likely.

Was that for just her as the ex wife of a royal? Surely it should have been up to Andrew to support her if she needed supporting and she could work.

There might have been an outside toilet, old cottages often still have them and very handy if you are working in the garden. But I bet there was also a full inside bathroom.

Sweetiedarling7 · 13/02/2026 07:35

She got a very small payoff, relative to royal life.

The Lownie book states that she completely left it to the palace to dictate how much was enough and they took full advantage of this.

I don’t excuse her other unbelievable and disgusting behaviour in any way at all but this was the one time she wasn’t money grabbing.

They seem to make very vengeful, nasty decisions like this that cuts of their nose to spite their face.

They did the same with PH.

It always comes back to bite them and worse, it is utterly predictable that it will come back to bite them.

simpsonthecat · 13/02/2026 14:36

I agree although I have read in different places that Sarah received far more than was published.
And of course QE2 repeatedly dug her out of near bankruptcy more than once, paying off her huge debts.
That didn't go well. It's like doing it for a child, they just keep racking up the debts.

Clefable · 13/02/2026 14:39

She was always a bit odd but all this stuff coming out now makes her look downright bizarre, desperate, grabby, incompetent. Definition of a grifter.

GenerousGardener · 12/02/2026 23:24

I wonder what kind of payoff she got from Andrew when they divorced? Surely it was enough to last a lifetime (with careful planning). After all she didn’t need to find a new house and live independently. Would she have saved money by still living with A, or did they split the costs?
I can’t understand how she was in dire straights, but she was obviously living well beyond her means.

Surely it was enough to last a lifetime (with careful planning).

Or not even careful planning to be honest, just some planning and not spunking it up a wall

andIsaid · 13/02/2026 14:57

I have no skin in the game regarding SF but the "family" really messed up with her.

They had the resources to keep her in line and manage her - not completely but certainly better that they did.

Their decision making around those who leave the family is vindictive and maifia esque.

It is time to change.

Lunde · 13/02/2026 15:21

SF just seems to be somebody who spends and spends without thinking of the bills coming in.

She sold a townhouse in Belgravia for £3.85 million about 6 months ago - but claims to be "homeless"

MidWayThruJanuary · 13/02/2026 15:26

@Lunde
She made a loss of £400,000 on the property.

Well, none of know what her mortgage was , whose name the property was in etc but on the face of it , even with a £400k loss , if it were her house , £3.85m minus costs etc doesn't scream homeless to me.

She didn't keep it all that long - 3 years IIRC. I remember it being said at the time that she bought it mortgage free and rented it out to generate £250K income per year.

I don't know what she did with her money (AMW's was obviously used for his legal settlement) but they have sold property for £35 million (less any loans) since they divorced.

WoollyHeadedMammoth · 13/02/2026 16:00

Well, we've had loads of sex pests - now SF has invented a new category, the "job pest". 🤑

Emotionalsupporttissue · 13/02/2026 16:08

It's the way she's writes that makes me feel queasy (along with the begging etc) who writes in such a sickly, creepy way?

Papercompany · 14/02/2026 01:17

She has absolutely no dignity at all.

I'm in Ireland so no royal family here....it's ridiculous that a particular family is 'royal' - singled out as better than everyone else and that have access to incredible wealth and property. No special talents or skills required. And that someone who married into this family is now royal too with a title. That awful undignified grifter got to call herself a Duchess because she married that horrible man Andrew. They're daughters are Princesses. Crazy.

LazyFriday · 14/02/2026 21:02

“My friendship is steadfast to the end, even after the body is cold .. Love you now and always.. And I know you do tooo.”

It all so disgusting, this sounds so creepy.

Zero morals.

What a sick pair her and Andrew are. And to think the Royals knew a lot of it and covered up.

I completely agree. I think this whole awful Andrew thing has made a lot of people really look at the Royals and realise how problematic the whole institution is, even people who quite liked or didn’t mind it before.

OneFancyBird · 15/02/2026 18:53

She's a terrible person. I wonder about her daughter's his much were they aware of it all.

@FateAmenableToChange
I don’t know about you but I am more than capable of paying attention to more than one thing at a time.

How wonderful for you, then please do continue to enjoy and support the titaliating gossip about these sacrificial nobodies who are being used to distract the masses from ongoing actions of the people who actually have all the power and money. My preference is not to bother. But you do you.

CanIRetirePlease · 16/02/2026 12:39

Imagine if her emails were like this, what she must have been like in person… The tabloids were not harsh enough on her it turns out!

MidWayThruJanuary · 16/02/2026 12:57

You think discussions about the behaviour of a senior member of the Royal family is 'titillating gossip?' @FateAmenableToChange.

I still don't understand why the focus is on Fergie especially in the papers? She is greedy and wasteful and all the things, but she isn't the traitor/nonce/paedo criminal. It is really doing my head in that we are being offered up his family as the distraction. They've even managed to pull his kids into it to deflect from him.
Can we use some focus and work out how much he has screwed Britain over financially and security wise. What happened with the Chinese spy trial that got dropped? How come the Chinese super embassy has now got the go ahead? How much money did they make from the Afghan and other insider deals? Anyone get killed because he was leaking info in an active combat area? We need "The Duke"'s emails forensically examined not just the bits he forwarded to his paedo pal.

MidWayThruJanuary · 16/02/2026 13:09

@ohdelay
Calls are mounting from across the political spectrum to open up a wide ranging police investigation into his activities, especially during his years as Trade Envoy.

The police haven't been to see him yet though. Mandelson is getting his house searched for much less. The other thing is this was known to the UK authorities, just not to the public. The US have actively been trying to get him to answer questions for many years. All the pictures they have and emails they're releasing have been around for many years in their unredacted form and will have been seen unredacted by our government, but they hid it so they could "manage" it. Banana republic levels of corruption probably rewarded with gongs.

Why are the US so slow in getting their own citizens to answer questions though?
