Well done Mr Wright👏

TheAutumnCrow · 19/02/2026 00:07

I wonder if it comes as a massive shock to Harry that he is not the only man in the world whose wife is a person of colour, and that Stephen Wright and his family are against racism?

Wright’s sense of betrayal, and disappointment in DL, is palpable. Unless he’s an Oscar-winning league liar, I think Wright’s evidence may well be compelling in the judge’s view.

Rebecca English and Katie Nicholl are going to be very interesting if they point to sources close to Harry. This is not good for the claimants so far.

BemusedAmerican · 19/02/2026 01:35

This whole court case would make a really compelling Netflix miniseries. Paul Dacre and Stephen Wright could be the moral centers. Gavin Burrows tormented and living in fear. Airborne and Harry leading people astray for various reasons.

Baital · 19/02/2026 02:48

But why did a judge allow this to come to trial? Surely there must be some evidence?

If it didn't go to trial PH would be on the front cover telling the world that it was another example of an establishment stitch up.

The judge did caution both sides to think carefully about continuing, by allowing both sides to chose to continue he can not be seen as preventing the truth from being heard.

CraftyGin · 18/02/2026 21:59

I think the judge let it go to trial because the allegations are very, very serious. They need to be tested in court, as the implications down the line are monumental, especially if the claimants have any substantial wins.

All the news were are getting about AMW, Mandelson, Starmer, etc are exposed because we have a free press, which is essential to our democracy.

I’m not sure that’s entirely true.

If it weren’t for Epstein’s case coming under scrutiny in the USA, the RF and the institution of the monarchy would still be covering up for AMW now.

And it's our free press that has been poking away at this and other stories that mean that higher powers cannot hide their dirty laundry.

And yet in the USA there have been no consequences for anyone except Ghislaine Maxwell.

Thedom · 19/02/2026 09:04

The US sat on the Epstein files for decades, it was only when it was used as a political punching bag that it was eventually exposed, and even then it has still only been partially exposed. The US government covered it up and are still protecting some powerful people.

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 10:01

Archive link for DM article https://archive.is/AfPdh

I do think the free press in this country is extremely important, and being seen to uphold it is a good reason for this trial to have gone ahead.
It's one of the reasons I linked to the other story upthread (totally unrelated story, but same principle).

Exactly. Whilst it would be comforting to think that removing our monarchy would clean up public life and the morals of those in power there is actually no evidence this is the case. There are far more powerful people (who were involved with Epstein) than a constitutional monarch (who wasnt involved with Epstein) working to avoid public exposure and census.

PrayForMyBum · 19/02/2026 10:57

Trial today continues with evidence from Richard Pendlebury, a DM journalist who has worked alongside Stephen Wright on stories about the Lawrence case.

But I'm now obviously slightly distracted by the Andrew arrest 😶

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 11:48

Yes, I suspect the entire media will be distracted likewise, @PrayForMyBum, so whether we'll get any reporting of the case in the next couple of days is anyone's guess.

Don't really want to do thread policing but would rather if possible not have too much about Epstein on this thread - it's been a bit of an oasis without him.

PrayForMyBum · 19/02/2026 11:50

I think you can rely on there still being coverage of the case by the DM, at least, as it’s very much in their interests to do so.

and absolutely agree re JE….happy to banish his name from this thread.

ThePoshUns · 19/02/2026 12:06

Agree there are plenty of threads discussing JE.

I’m glad you said it! We don’t need Epstein or RF cover up conspiracies on this thread!
there are a million others to choose from!

elessar · 19/02/2026 13:29

@bluegreygreenI think we’re in need of a third thread if you would be happy to do the honours again!

Thread 3

OP posts:
Lunde · 19/02/2026 13:50

Yike it's hard to keep up today what with the ANL case, the AMW case and I'm following the half-blood prince trial in Norway.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2026 13:56

The rf sub has descended into something I’d rather not join in with, thank goodness we have this thread for sanity!

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 14:03

Is there a thread on that @Lunde?
