It interests me that the person whose intervention persuaded Doreen Lawrence to turn on Stephen Wright and the Mail, was Prince Harry.

And both PH and DL were the last to be persuaded to the party and arguably both have huge public appeal / sympathy much more than any of the other claimants which could have scared the shit out of ANL - so pressuring them is to settle? Think that was Sherbournes strategy. He gets paid without even having to turn up to court ! Easy money.

binkie163 · 18/02/2026 13:05

DL thinks DM were using her to get bame credentials.... funnily enough I think that's exactly what Sherborn is using her for, she ticks a lot of box's for him, hard to call a woman of colour and mother of a murdered child a liar.
I think she has shot herself in her foot, people won't trust her going forward. Zero evidence, zero loyalty or gratitude to those who stood behind her when no one else would...for 25 years, that should stand for something.

Yes, agreed; but I find it hard to believe, in the overall context of what we now know about Harry, that he is an entirely innocent party in all this. I think his intervention with Doreen Lawrence was all about Harry getting what Harry wants. And I personally believe that he’s capable of lying to achieve what he has decided he wants.

He’s even lied publicly IMO since Jan 2020 during broadcast interviews and appearances. There’s much dissembling in Spare.

Harry seems to think that whatever he wants is something he actually deserves. He has revealed a personality type that to me is suggestive of an inflated sense of entitlement. Some might argue that it borders on a personality disorder in the narcissism category. He’s a fascinating study. On the face of it, he’s also a very damaging man for others to be around, especially when he turns on the charm between the sullen inward and outward rages.

Like I said, I don’t think he’s an innocent in getting Doreen Lawrence to contradict her own prior statements. I’m not sure she’ll come out of this court process as unscathed as Harry will psychologically.

I think you're right.

It would also tie in with the email we saw previously (possibly from Evan Harris? can't remember) about needing someone with a dead child. Horrible.

And we have seen from his behaviour in the US that Harry’s not above using the parents of dead children to meet his own needs.

I've been thinking about DL over the last couple of days.

Someone yesterday wondered what she was thinking as she sat in court yesterday listening to Stephen Wright - I think the implication was that this might have made her rethink.

I said before that I think she was psychologically vulnerable because of the previous phone tapping by the police (despite apparently training as a counsellor, which should give her tools to help).

I think she may be stuck in the situation where she believes her own 'emotional truth' rather than the factual truth. If that is the case, no amount of evidence from ANL will change her mind. (I have personal experience of this.)

I agree with you - PH is the vulnerable type narcissistic so along with the grandiosity, delusion, entitlement and arrogance - comes the victim mentality and blaming others. As per standard narc he can also use charm and charisma to groom and coerce to get his way. He is also a liar - not one word out of his self serving disingenuous mouth is believable.

Definitely Evan Harris’s email to Hugh Grant - in his own way of apologising that Gary Lineker wasn’t as good a recruit as he had no dead children - but that at least he was a National Treasure.

No wonder HG ‘bowed out’ - he knew all this shit would float to the top.

What vile characters to search for BAME, dead child, national treasure just to ultimately line their own pockets….

OccasionalHope · 18/02/2026 15:29

How is Lineker a national treasure?

I see this all the time. It’s like Déjà vu. Loads of my points / angles have been lifted.

Mr Wright reacted angrily to the claims, telling the barrister: “This tawdry investigation is being conducted like a rogue News of the World investigation.”

Well, from the reporting it does sound like it. Reporting can be very one sided though, and I keep thinking there must be more to.it? After all, ANL tried to have it thrown out before the trial didn't they? And the judge let it go to trial? So there must be something, some evidence?

I think it might possibly be that the Judge wanted to hear the Burrows evidence (dodgy dossier) cross examined in open court - but it's looking less and less likely that he is going to appear.

However Nicklin has warned the plaintiffs of the need to bring concrete evidence.

CraftyGin · 18/02/2026 21:59

I think the judge let it go to trial because the allegations are very, very serious. They need to be tested in court, as the implications down the line are monumental, especially if the claimants have any substantial wins.

All the news were are getting about AMW, Mandelson, Starmer, etc are exposed because we have a free press, which is essential to our democracy.

Need my shocked emoji again

Mr Wright described those working for the claimants as a “mob of shysters, spivs and useful idiots” who had tried to “fit me up over these despicable allegations”.

He told Mr Sherborne: “You have set out with your mob to try and destroy me and my reputation. You have done that shamelessly and you are still trying. It’s an utter disgrace.”

Quite glad to see someone giving it back to Sherborne and calling him out on the gross practices of the claimant’s team.

Also refreshing not to allow the claimants to have sole positioning as the victims in this.

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2026 23:27

I find myself rooting for the daily mail! , not a position I would normally think I would take! , well done Sherborne for making your celebrity clients look awful and a newspaper the underdog!
