Now that I've read more about it this morning I can see why - a brand using the children for publicity and advancement, the resentment of a child who feels they were hard done by.

Last year it was LA in flames- now it's the Beckham Bombshell. Trying to recall all those other world hiccups that bombed the Sussexes.

Brooklyn does seem like a harry type to me , same unearned wealth and privilege, same lack of talent, perfectly happy before he got married.

I definitely think there's going to be a "me too" moment, 20+ years down the line. All these celebs who have used their children for publicity and personal advancement on social media just to enhance their "brand".
Or getting clicks when they've got nothing else to post.

It does beg the question about influencers with children using them from when they are babies. To be fair though David B was more than an influencer although Victoria only managed her massive fashion losses because of the brand wealth. Some people love to cite the child abuse of the Wales children being prepared for a role in the RF but we can now see the result of non preparation. I don't know if any of the older Beckham boys have degrees or further education but they seem an aimless bunch. It's always about what girlfriend they have.

The Wales children are not routinely used on sm. They participate in a few formal engagements, and there is a picture released on their birthday. They are protected and do have privacy.
We know what they look like, but have very little idea of their lives day to day.

I agree with you, @cockandbullstories . For some celebs it's all about promoting a brand, and the children are used as part of that.
I have no idea how much of Brooklyn's statement is true, but he and his siblings have certainly been used to promote Brand Beckham.

I don't know that H was 'happy' before marriage, I can quite believe that he lacked purpose and struggled to maintain relationships. But he had plenty of opportunities to address that.

I think what has changed with his marriage is he has found an excuse for his failings in blaming his family. And then felt so aggrieved he decided the world should be told his truth.

Brooklyn Beckham has married into an even wealthier brand, so presumably we won't be treated to a 'my dad cut me off financially' shock revelation 😂 unless his relationship with them falls apart.

The Sussexs children are not routinely used on sm either then they appear even less than the Wales children, we dont ven know what they actually look like since we dont see their faces nor do we know what they do day to day either so do you also agree that they are protected and do have privacy too?

And moaning about being used for publicity when they can't keep quiet themselves. Brooklyn and Harry both run to the press, soft interviews and social media to air grievances and garner sympathy, support but most of all publicity!! It is their oxygen attention seeking.
I wonder if it is learned behaviour or they are both wimps. I honestly don't know how either wife can stand such weak men. They both give me the ick, wimpy, unkept and unhygienic looking.

I do hope the Sussex children are continued to be protected with their privacy. This was longed for by H but somehow I don’t think they will. I feel they will be used to boost H& M’s popularity which is pretty low atm.

I disagree with this. The Sussex children are being shown on Instagram with increasing frequency. We’ve seen videos and photos of them in normal clothes, inside their home, and while on holiday.

By contrast, the Wales children are only shown on social media in their capacity as children of the heir to the throne. Apart from George’s meeting with the Obamas, I can’t recall seeing photos of them inside their home. The clothing they are usually seen in is what I would describe as their “working clothes,” and we have yet to see them in their day‑to‑day attire.

This difference means that when the Wales children are out in public, they often go unnoticed or people need to do a double take, because they aren’t associated with being dressed this way.

The difference in how the two families travel also contributes to the level of privacy. When the Wales family are out with the children, they have, low‑key security, which allows them to blend in and move about without drawing attention. We don't see their faces, but they are certainly used for promotion. Those children must be aware of the constant cameras in their home and private life.

I think you're right. It's tricky, because the Sussexes are all about celebrity and being in the public eye and promoting themselves. Status, and being royal, is obviously very important to them - that's fine, that's their choice. However, I hope they recognise that their children did not choose this.

Yes, they put up intimate moments and childhood memories of their kids.

Those kids will grow up and will see those moments were for all to share, not just their little family.

Who needs to see Lilibet in the swimming pool with Doria for Christs sake? Who needs to see the kids on a carousel at Disney? Who needs to see the kids watering garden plants?

This is true - the Wales' kids tend to be shown on royal family events, a birthday photo and sometimes a first day of school photo.

You see very few private, off-duty pictures from their childhood - unlike the Sussex kids. In fact William sued the magazine that printed photos taken with long lenses into their chalet on holiday in France and got angry with the sleezy pap who stalked them out on a bike ride without security in Norfolk.

Comparing the Sussex children to the Wales children is a bit apples and oranges. Yes, they're cousins but they are growing up in completely different environments. The Wales will be public figures all their lives. George will be King and even if his siblings do not become working royals, they will attend some royal events and be very well known to the public. So it makes perfect sense for them to be familiarised with public attention as they grow up. As others have said, we actually don't see them that much outside of predictable royal events and there is an agreement with the press not to photograph when 'off duty'. So it's a pretty good arrangement for all concerned.

By contrast, the Sussex children are the son and daughter of private citizens. They will not have any role in public life as they grow up, unless either of them choose a career in the public eye. There is absolutely no reason for us to see them, ever. Not in the swimming pool, the petting zoo, the pumpkin patch, hugging their parents, anywhere. Yet we've seen them in all these places and more. And the fact that we don't see their faces doesn't magically cancel out the fact that their parents are using them for publicity. We don't need to see them at all.

I've only seen the Wales' children on official events (Trooping, Christmas, George did some of the VE events, also did an event with William, at Wimbledon, think Charlotte went to the football, possibly a couple of other times) and official birthday photos.

The Sussexes were featured on an almost monthly basis on their Mum's IG (sometimes more often) during private moments - purely in order to promote her business. Their images of them at Disneyland were released as part of a promotional deal with Dianey. Someone much cleverer than me could probably patch together enough of the glimpses of bits of their faces seen to composite an image.

Their privacy is absolutely being invaded by their parents, for purely brand purposes.

Seeing faces or bits of faces and bodies - what Meghan has done is make it difficult for those two children to be out in public together. We have seen enough of them to put two and two together - you know the potential kidnappers and Taliban marksmen.

I have never seen a Wales child, or any royal child come to that, in the bath. When that photo of Archie was released it made me wonder what privacy really means to Harry.

Certainly different to most of the rest of us.
