I still believe ( possibly naively) that the late queen and Charles really did love and look after Harry but perhaps you are right , his behaviour may have become too much to reign in for the “men in grey “

This was from the last thread, @jeffgoldblum - it filled up before I could reply - but just wanted to add I agree the late Queen and Charles probably really did love Harry; in fact it's why I honestly believe Charles is still funding him despite Harry's claims of being cut off, which IMO are no more to be relied on than anything else he says

However there's a difference between family and institution, and as we've seen the latter is prioritised no matter what. It might take a while, as we saw with Andrew who'd done much worse than his nephew, but if it comes to a real threat to their positions the institution will always win

yes I do agree about the institution coming first but was Harry really there yet? , I mean look at Andrew and how much he got away with!
obviously we have all heard the rumours of Harry’s ( awful) behaviour that hasn’t been reported on but at this point he hasn’t been unmasked 🤔
im undecided!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/12/2025 18:07

Harry had teased a commercial project of some kind, before the end of the year, if I recall

I'm pretty sure that was "reports" from "sources" rather than Harry's own words, @Not2identifying, but at the time it was speculated that he'd run a commercial venture alongside Invictus - which might be thought ironic when many suspect him of spending rather too much of the Invictus funds on themselves anyway

Anything commercial would involve some pretty high profile people coming on board if he hoped to make anything though, and I'm not sure there are many left who'd want to do that

Edited to add the public may not know the whole story on Harry, @jeffgoldblum, but you can be pretty sure the RF will, and from that may follow other things ...

jeffgoldblum · 31/12/2025 18:13

Good point @Puzzledandpissedoff! But if they know all of it and it’s true then yes he deserves to be iced out !

I know that KC is an extremely wealthy man however H and M have a very expensive lifestyle ; huge mortgaged house , security , domestic staff etc so I am not convinced he can continue to support them from private funds .
H and M are wealthy by most people’s standards however the circles they ( want to) move in , are seriously rich compared to them.

Exactly. There is lots of talk on here and elsewhere that £100,000 a year salary means you are poor, because the world you are rubbing shoulders with has more money, so by the time you pay mortgage for the big house, private school fees, car repayments etc you don't have a disposable income.

And that's the rub, it's not the actual amount of money it is the difference between the cloth you can cut, and the cloth you want to cut.

Thanks for the new thread.

Small derail - one of my siblings is severely dyslexic and has a similar way of writing. Autocorrect has helped but isn't 100% failsafe (or autocarrot as it's known in our house!). But dyslexia has no bearing on their ferocious intelligence (have never yet won an argument with them, and it's been over 40 years now), or the fact that they are hugely capable and brilliant. Although they are a truly terrible singer.

I'm not sure what realistic avenues are left for the DDoS. It feels like something featuring both children might be on the cards. But once that card is played, it's done. I wonder whether 2026 is when there's more chatter and movement about building bridges with the palace, and sounding out a return to the RF. I can't see how they are going to manage financially in the long-term without doing this.

There is nothing wrong with being dyslexic and normally posters here ignore typos or spelling errors, however if you are the sort of poster ( obviously not you!) who uses a typo as a weapon against someone then I’m afraid you are going to get the same treatment in return, it’s a very Meghan thing to attack and then play victim when your own words and actions are pointed out.

You may be right about the private funds, @Mylovelygreendress, but considering the Sovereign Grant has increased from £86 million to a massive £132 million over the last year I'd have thought even H&M's spending would seem like pocket change

Of course the Grant's supposed to be audited and subject to parliamentary oversight, but we've all seen the approach parliament takes towards the monarchy so I'm afraid I've little faith in that making any difference

Some advice from the Times to H&M
An open letter to Meghan and Harry: here’s how to move on from your annus horribilis

https://www.thetimes.com/article/56949fdc-26cf-461d-a23f-7bf00a56bfb8?shareToken=6352592f1e667e8568174cd50b86bee5

This article sums up everything I currently dislike about the couple. If they actually followed this advice, their image might be salvageable by 2027–28. But that would require self-awareness, and admitting their annus horribilis was self-inflicted, so… not happening.

AMW got away with it for so long because we only had MSM in those days, completely controlled by the palace, those days are over, everything is scrutinized and fact checked now.

Here is what the poster chunky wrote on her post at 5.35pm on that thread

As i said when I responded to it asking chunkyboo that if you are mocking someone for using words she doesnt understand and making mistakes and therefore that makes her fool then surely chunkyboo you also agree that you yourself used a word noone understands, made a mistake and therefore are you also a fool?

I think its a fair question to ask, as it happens I wasn't mocking chunky for making typos. Just replaying back what they said, so no I was not using typos as a weapon.

They can certainly survive financially. Of course none of us is their accountant but they must have a net worth of at least several million. More than enough to live comfortably without ever having to work again.

"Living comfortably", however, is not the same as A list luxury. And indeed, apart from the fact of living in a big but ugly mansion in Montecito, I would say they don't live in A list luxury. But I do think owning that home is incredibly important for Meghan. She lives in Montecito, so she's made it. She's one of 'them' now. So I think she'd be very reluctant to downsize, and I'm also unsure that what big McMansion would get in the current luxury home market.

I see very little chance of a return to royal life for either, for all sorts of reasons.

I read that the mortgage repayments are in excess of £50,000 per month .

I agree. As PP have also said, there's living well and there's keeping up with the Jones.

If they were sensible, they'd downsize, move out of celeb central and live a fantastic life with animals and kids and no hassle. I'd fancy Montana I think. No work, no money worries, lots of space to run about in and have my dogs and grow veg and no immediate neighbours - absolute bliss.

But when you're in the centre of ultra high net worth people, then presumably it feels like you're failing unless you are also hopping on private jets, and jetting off to private islands at a moment's notice. Utterly bonkers, but human emotions and envy have rarely been sensible!

Reminds me of the hypocrisy of that once prolific poster who used to like to accuse people of lying and would really go to town on them, then was caught in a lie about the PoW and immediately disappeared without acknowledging it, ugh 🤦‍♀️
