It’s a fascinating situation . 2 people who had a world wide platform plus everything that goes with Royalty and they have fucked up .
I hope they think it was worth it .

The movie/series they make about it will be quite something.

It's rare you see such a self inflicted fall from grace.

Are we talking about Andrew?

Clockyclockz · 01/01/2026 14:53

It's frustrating that MN allow them

Why is it frustrating? They allow all sorts of crap about other members so why would some get special treatment?

We are not TikTok or Twitter or members of Sussex Squad. No idea why you post this.
On Mumsnet no one puts any of that stuff. It's just you giving it oxygen. Why?

DarkChoc just had an opinion that William & Kate don't look in love. It's said enough times about harry and meghan, do you get annoyed with that assertion too?

BemusedAmerican · 01/01/2026 15:16

I predict Liam the new PR czar will be gone by Easter.

BemusedAmerican · 01/01/2026 15:22

I also predict that Harry will piss off Trump. It will somehow be related to the US 250 birthday celebration in 2026 and the rumored visit of William and Catherine. Harry will say something stupid about a Founding Father or the Revolution.

Could be either Harry or Andrew or tbf their wives/exwife. Andrew’s fall has been a long time coming.

I‘M not much younger than Andrew and he was known as the good looking one, the catch. ‘Randy Andy’ which even then, had me wondering what the press knew. Quite a bit most likely.

Netflix to release a show made entirely of outtakes from all their Harry & Meghan productions.

Netflix to win Best Comedy of the Year Award.

Honestly I reckon Netflix must have a lot of material, in terms of stuff that never made the final edits, but also in terms of the experience their own teams have had working with H&M. It would make for a very interesting documentary and would I reckon get far more viewers than the awful WLM.

So do we think that the barrage of posts slagging off the Waleses is an attempt to deflect attention from a) Archewell sliding slowly into the mire, b) losing Meredith Maines, c) losing James Holt, d) the stealing allegations still, e) the Kardashian Krisis still, f) the debacle surrounding Meghan’s father being filmed in ICU as he opened a letter, the contents of which she announced to the world whilst expressing hope that it would remain private, g) Meghan named a celebrity loser in the Telegraph, h) the pair of them named pariahs and Harry “not the brightest bulb”, i) dodgy shenanigans over witnesses in the latest Harry court case, j) the terrible and much derided photoshopping of the photo on the bridge, k) the fact that everyone is still laughing at the Harpers article and especially Meghan insisting on being announced to an empty room, l) rumours about their financial situation, m) the hypocrisy of posting photos of the children online, n) Netflix not renewing WLM, o) Netflix not stocking As Ever in their shops, p) the Christmas episode disappearing without trace, q) the announcement that the children will now be part of their “global philanthropic endeavours”, r) rage at George’s signature alongside William’s and Diana’s in the book at the homeless charity, s) rage at Charlotte playing the piano with her mother, t) embarrassment that various of their friends now have terrible reputations, eg Tyler Perry - or is it just that the RF are so visible over Christmas? Or is something really bad about to come out, I wonder?

Mumsnet is a parenting site so I think it’s to be expected that people here, mostly parents, will comment on parenting. It is shocking seeing footage of the children being allowed to hug strangers. For me it stems from not being able to think of any situation where I would allow that for my children. I would expect my parenting to be questioned if I didn’t step in if a stranger asked my child for a hug, was saying inappropriate things to them or asking for selfies.

It's entrenched polarisation. If you critisise William and Kate you must be a fan of his brother and his wife. I barely give the latter couple a thought. I'm only interested in the monarchy and the heirs to it. I expect there are lots of people the same.

simpsonthecat · 01/01/2026 17:27

@NormaMajors1992coat

Why can't 2026 predictions cover the Royal Family too? If the thread title was 2026 predictions for Harry & Meghan, it would be different.
But it isn't that.
People are allowed different opinions you know.

I didn't read all your tirade against Harry and Meghan because it is not predictions, just a rant about them.

I'm only interested in the monarchy and the heirs to it. I expect there are lots of people the same

Yes, that's me.

Is this for another poster? I don’t believe I said they couldn’t?

My post literally had multiple possible answers to the question I asked, so yes, I am aware that people are allowed different opinions.

I didn't read all your tirade against Harry and Meghan because it is not predictions, just a rant about them.

In what way is it a tirade or rant? Obviously something has sparked the sudden deluge of anti-Wales posts and the change from the normal patterns of engagement on the RF board. This has happened multiple times before and there is usually a pretty transparent reason relating to the Sussexes.

I’m only interested in the monarchy and the heirs to it. I expect there are lots of people the same.
Yes, that’s me.

I didn’t have this as an option for reasons behind the current weird Sussex PR op but you might have hit the nail on the head there. It was always going to happen eventually, interest in the Sussexes dwindling as they become less relevant - I suppose George at the homeless charity and Charlotte playing the piano might have made it feel like it’s happening sooner rather than later. Or rather, now.

I agree with this. Parents judge other parents. I do think it’s bad parenting to allow your young children to be hugged by strangers and introduce them to obsessive fans who talk to them about their Nan. I’ve said his on another thread. I’m a mum and would never do that. I find it really concerning and an odd decision from William and Kate. I’m not very interested in Meghan and Harry and don’t know much about the long list of things posted by the pp, but I have also criticised them posting photos of their children in the past as I don’t agree with anyone using children in this way.

What seems to have sparked it is a bad parenting decision and this being a parenting site full of parents, who like me, watched in shock at Charlotte hugging strangers and the kids being introduced to stalker ‘John’ in a positive way by William. I’ve also talked about it with friends in real life who have children around Charlotte, George and Louis age. They are not people who usually talk about the Royals, but they’ve found this shocking. It’s a talking point amongst parents at the moment.

I predict that some shit hot LA lawyer will launch a class action case against MM / PH for bullying in the workplace on behalf of the dozens of victims and witnesses of their appalling abuse of their staff who have already spoken anonymously to numerous separate and independent investigations of their workplace bullying.

wordler · 01/01/2026 18:06

I don’t think the current deluge of anti William and Kate posts are being generated by Sussex fans on this occasion, although for those unaware there have been organized social media campaigns against W&K and the royal family in the past which have started on Twitter and made their way over to other sites including MN.

These recent ones seem more to be republican talking points. William and Kate are very popular, and they shore up a lot of good will towards the royal family and the future of the monarchy.

I think it came as a shock to a lot of people that Charles who was often quite unpopular as heir, particularly with the prospect of Camilla as Queen, didn’t move the anti monarchy needle significantly when the late Queen died.

If you estimate that Charles could have another ten years making William in his fifties, the at least 40 years on William’s watch, then George will be 50 - and unless he’s turned out to be a bad un’ - you’ve got at least another century of constitutional monarchy.

The only way to disrupt that is to try to hurt William’s reputation and chip away at his image.

My prediction for 2026 is we will see a lot more of that.

TeideHeart · 01/01/2026 18:08

It's only people like you and the other obsessives that keep going on about them who are interested and seem fixated on them.

No one else gives a single fuck about them.

They're not relevant to anything, but they are a continuing source of comedy.

Because it is a huge long paragraph ranting on about harry and meghan and nothing to do with predictions for 2026 which is what this thread is about.
When you talk about 'normal patterns of engagement on the RF board', does that mean just criticism of harry and meghan and no one else? It is a royal family board where we can discuss the Monarchy and it's workings and those within it.
What is the transparent reason?

TheDogParade · 01/01/2026 18:42

The mumsnet RF board does seem to be a board mainly used for being anti Meghan and Harry and I think it takes posters by surprise when something which shows William and Kate in a bad way happens and people discuss it. They seem to think the board is theirs for their Meghans and Harry discussion. They seem to not be able to believe that anyone could genuinely think William and Kate could be wrong and instead call them Sussex Squad. I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything about Meghan and Harry, apart from criticising them putting out photos of their children. I have joined in discussion about Andrew, yet I have criticised Kate and William because I think they have done wrong to their children by allowing what they have with the crowds over Xmas.

Its actually quite ironic that posters don’t like any negativity about William and Kate, say it must be some sort of planned attack, yet post constantly negative things about Meghan and Harry and team up with each other against other posters who disagree with them. I have no idea if Sussex squad people post here, but to have an issue with mumsnet allowing what they believe to be Sussex squad, when many of the people here that are critical of Harry and Meghan daily, operate like their own squad and have a reputation of their own, is very hypocritical imo.

I hope to see the board being more balanced in future, talking about the Royals as a whole, not just Meghan and Harry, because it’s much more interesting. The anti Harry and Meghan posters have controlled and ruined this board for too long imo. I’d welcome a wider discussion which is what we’ve seen in the last few days. I hope it stays as I will engage more.

That is my point EXACTLY.

This is a royal family board, we can discuss who we like, and if that includes Kate & William, so be it.

I would like that also. Sometimes there's interesting facts, information, discussion about the Monarchy in these days and times on threads, but when its just meghan meghan meghan, followed by harry harry it is tediously boring.

It is and it drives people away. That is what has happened and it has meant that the anti Meghan and Harry posters have been left to rule and team up against the few who venture here. God help anyone who posts with either another viewpoint on Meghan and Harry, or who may want to discuss other Royals in a less than positive way at times, because they see any negative discussion on other Royals as support for Meghan and Harry. I find that odd
