Andrew’s Newsnight interview

I’ve rewatched this today with one of my young adult kids as they had never seen it and many parts were worse than I remembered.

Epstein served time in prison for soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. After he was freed, Andrew went to stay with him at his house in New York for days, apparently to tell him that they could no longer be seen together. In this time, they went for a stroll in the park and had a dinner party together. The part I had forgot was that Andrew said he went to see him in person to tell him they could no longer be seen together because he was just too ‘honourable’ to do it over the phone. 🤨

He really didn’t seem to understand how badly he came across and that the interview only served to convince most people of his bad character and guilt.

I was thinking of the decision to do the interview and then not show any remorse or apologise.

I remember in the interview that he was keen to say he didn’t have much of a friendship with Epstein by saying Epstein just happened to be the boyfriend of Maxwell, who at the time of the interview wasn’t convicted of any crime. Obviously since then, Maxwell has been imprisoned for sex trafficking of minors and it’s obvious that Andrew knew Maxwell was just as guilty as Epstein all along. He obviously thought Maxwell wouldn’t get convicted of anything back then so tried to side himself with her. Disgusting, manipulative bastard.

I don’t think it was stupidity, rather he thought he was untouchable because everyone has always covered up for him and he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

Agree it’s so bad it actually seems like a piss take but no. Deluded thick greedy amoral and entitled. The pair of them are truly repellent.
