I reckon removing their photos was purely a PR move. Harry and Meghan always draw massive media attention, and celebrity Instagram feeds are carefully managed. Their photos probably ended up stealing the spotlight from Kris and the other guests. By keeping the posts up but quietly hiding Harry and Meghan, the focus stays on the party and the A-list friends.

PR move for sure. Removing a photo often generates more press than the photo.

Want media attention, for whatever reason Delete a photo and wait for the phone to ring.

Really? Ooh, clever. It certainly got the headlines.

Yes. Could be a repeat of the 'falling out' with Gwyneth Paltrow stunt a few months back.

The Kardashian klan are masters of social media and don't do anything by accident.

This forum is very lightly moderated,

Clearly!

I do think coming onto a thread with no intention of contributing to the subject under discussion, but instead repeatedly insulting other posters and trying to drag the discussion off topic, is poor practice and should not be allowed. However, I don't run this forum and don't make the rules. I just try to ignore the goady baiters.

I think the Meghan bashing is ridiculous & reflects badly on MNs and no i'm not a fan or in a squad or whatever.

But it seems if you come onto any of these threads and disagree with the criticism or even the levels of it (because there have been some mistakes) other posters start arguing with you. The only purpose of the threads seems to be to criticise & unless others want to do that it's derailing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. That's just gone out of fashion, hasn't it? There was a thread on here about what to wear to a posh restaurant and the response was basically jeans and trainers from some people! Others amongst us like to dress up 😉

I have some absolutely beautiful clothes hanging in my wardrobe, yet even for my works Christmas do at a nice restaurant the dress code is casual! 😩 I really think we need to introduce a “dress nicely” friday, considering every other day is dressed down.

IcedPurple · 12/11/2025 15:59

BigWillyLittleTodger · 12/11/2025 15:51

I agree the suits look suited her, you don’t see that aesthetic though that much anymore, I used to dress like that when I worked for a corporate company, I loved getting dressed for work each day, now I go to work in trainers, sad sad times.

Yes, that 'boss girl' look is very dated now.

I don't know if you say the Prime series 'The Girlfriend' but one of the characters dressed in that whole high heels and mini skirt office outfit. It seemed the idea was to show her up as being very dated and 'try hard' compared to her colleagues who wore jeans and tshirts. I guess it's a good news bad news sort of thing.

Absolutely! At work people asked me if I was going for an interview! No, I'm just wearing nice clothes because I enjoy it!
Dress up Fridays is a brilliant idea 💡

I happily admit I don’t like Meghan or Harry, in fact I’m quite proud of the fact I don’t like liars, bullies or grifters as I have standards in the people I admire 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is also extremely ironic

Just a suggestion but why don’t you offer an alternative argument as to why you think the dress is nice, rather than constantly attack posters for having that opinion in the first place rather than accuse them of having dementia? Just a thought……

So you're clearly a repeat 'contributer' to these threads!

If you think the 'criticism' is excessive then the obvious thing is to add to the discussion by providing a counter argument. You never know, some might even see your points of view. Not just slag off other posters and try to derail the thread. What do you actually think you're acheving by this?

People don't have to moderate their 'criticisms' to a level you personally think is reasonable. There are hundreds of active threads on this forum this very moment. Nobody requested your presence on one that offends you.

It is isn’t it, if I wore those clothes to work now colleagues would think I was auditioning for The Apprentice!

The Apprentice! The last bastion of bodycon dresses!

Nope, most of the time I stay away. But they have been going on for years and if it's fashion chat then I would dip in. Why would you need to be a regular contributor to be aware of them? Presumably you are a regular contributor?!

I don't think it is derailing, is there a policy on derailing?

It really isn’t ironic because I’m not a bully, liar or a grifter though nice work on trying to imply that I am so your post doesn’t get deleted, how about you “admit” it and risk the deletion?

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 16:09

When have I constantly attacked posters? Does replying to posters constitute an attack?

Can you imagine the press if Kate removed a photo.

Wowser.

Especially if she done it while Meghan was in the press for some high profile event :-)

But, TBH, I have no idea if Kate has social media.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 16:13

I like the red dress because it's a classic CH and I think red looks great on her. She also has a nice shoulder line so can pull off different necklines.

Yes, I'm a fairly regular contributor. I've never name changed so it's there for all to see!

I don't think it is derailing, is there a policy on derailing?

I'm not going to repeat my above post for you.

You say you 'dip in' to 'fashion chats' yet most of your 'contributions' here have been complaining about your fellow posters, not discussing fashion. You, and others, clearly want to divert the discussion so yes I'd say that is derailing though whether it qualifies as such by the very vague forum rules, I cannot say.

But this is exactly what I was demonstrating when you offer a different opinion.

What 'different opinion' are you 'offering'? What opinions have you 'offered' on the substance of this post, trivial though it may be? You seem mostly interested in unprovoked jabs at your fellow posters. It's tedious and dull.

My post is self explanatory, and yes all you have done is berate others for having an opinion that you don’t like posters expressing, there’s a word for that.

I don’t even want to imagine. The kill order on the Mother’s Day photo was bad enough. Honestly, that was an awful period on mumsnet (and social media in general).

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 16:18

I didn't know if it was a fashion thread until I clicked but it was in active when I saw it. Again anyone can comment whatever they like on public threads....

You, and others, clearly want to divert the discussion so yes I'd say that is derailing though whether it qualifies as such by the very vague forum rules, I cannot say.

I don't want to join in with the criticism, I don't think that's derailing though.

What 'different opinion' are you 'offering'? What opinions have you 'offered' on the substance of this post, trivial though it may be? You seem mostly interested in unprovoked jabs at your fellow posters. It's tedious and dull.

What are you offering by arguing with me & telling me I am derailing because I don't want to join in with criticism? You have no obligation to reply to my dull posts, the arguing is tedious I agree.

I think she can pull off strapless and halter necks, not everyone can. I think you're right, she has nice shoulders and neck.

You need to google berate, so much hyperbole.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 16:21

@MadeInGrimsby people underestimate it but having a nice shoulder line makes a huge difference to certain necks & it is quite rare

Yes, I just cannot wear strapless or halter necks and I envy those who can!
