Fergie living with Andrew

As Fergie has lived with Andrew for a couple of decades why is it reported that they are now looking for separate residences?
It is not as if the next house will be too small for them to reside together.
And surely financially this is a better resolution?

I would image King Charles would have put some sort of conditions in his agreement to pay and keep Andrew. They need to be able to control him in some form.
I would image they wouldn’t want him to be too desperate for money in case of what he might do.

If the king was really that reluctant, he’d make Andrew support himself.

That's one option, yes, but a very risky strategy. How would he make a living? He's mid 60s, has no skill set to trade off and no organisation in the UK at least would touch him. That leaves being paid for disastrous interviews, a couple of equally disastrous books, dodgy dealings with dubious overseas connections and launching a deodorant for men who don't sweat!

JellyBabiesmunch · 04/11/2025 17:19

They haven't been a couple since they split up. They live in separate wings of RL and don't have much to do with each other. I imagine now they would have to live in closer proximity and she would prefer to be closer to the 'action', i.e. find some other sucker to pay her bills.

eggandonion · 04/11/2025 17:21

His state pension will be useful too. I assume he has paid enough stamps.
He doesn't seem to have gone down the autobiography route yet...but I think Sarah will happily sell the secrets if she isn't kept sweet.

Catwalking · 04/11/2025 17:27

wondering if Fergie needs plenty looking after to keep her quiet, maybe same applies to AMW? Tho he would be able to have his Navy pension…

eggandonion · 04/11/2025 17:29

Plus they are guardians of the late queen's dogs so need to be treated carefully.

😂😂
I love the deodorant idea! That's brilliant 😄

She has deserted him because he will no longer be able to keep her in the style/ location of her choice. She will have to leech off some other fucker.

Yes quite - I bet she’ll be fully supported by her incredibly rich daughters and their families in her hour of need.

I imagine he had concern over how exactly Andrew would support himself and whether it would be via the autobiography route.

Or back to his old tricks, taking money from murderous dictators.

The Lownie book suggests the Queen left him a fortune because she suspected Charles would not fund him in the manner he’d become accustomed to.

I reckon was living there with him for the luxury and kudos - pair of sleazebags !!
she will absolutely be out there sniffing out her next host for the parasitic claws she wields !! Ugh they make me shudder !!

marmaladeteal · 04/11/2025 21:23

They did seem to attend a lot of events together which makes me think there was some connection other than her occasionally staying in a wing of RL.
I find it all confusing but thank you all for the thoughts on their future.
SF is not one to quietly drift away…

I always wondered if she was housed because of what she knew. Now there is this whole mess in the public eye, it isn't necessary to keep her on side any more.

eggandonion · 04/11/2025 22:07

Unless she knows a lot of things not in the public eye. What a horrible mess they are in. And what an awful experience for the young people involved.

SuperGinger · 04/11/2025 22:12

The Royal Lodge has 30 rooms, I guess you can live together and never see each other. It's like being neighbours three doors away from each other.

Doughnutsarenottheonlyfruit · 04/11/2025 22:13

What about the corgies??

ShenandoahRiver · 04/11/2025 22:16

Yes the corgis
Didn’t she say that when they barked it was TLQ communicating with her? She’s as mad as a box of frogs.

She obviously does know things not in the public domain.

Supersimkin7 · 04/11/2025 22:48

I think the sensible SF option would be to fund a farmhouse out of the way with enough to live on decently. Providing she doesn’t talk.

SF is nuts now though. That’s what royalty does to you.

Grifter not grafter!

Lol at Grafter. As if!

Lunde · 04/11/2025 23:01

CoffeeCantata · 04/11/2025 17:07

Or anywhere which suited her grandiose tastes!

She bought a house in Belgravia in 2022 for £4.2 million which she sold at a loss around 2 months ago for £3.85 million. It's unclear why she didn't live in her own house but it shows this has been coming for a while.

However - even if housing were offered - I can't imagine Fergie willingly moving out to rural Norfolk and living among the so called turnip toffs.

We stumbled on a Cambridge University alumni talk on you tube by Andrew Lownie...a combination of what's in his book and how he did research. I don't have a link...but it was interesting, different approach.

There's a thread about the talk here:

Here's a link to the talk on YouTube: Andrew Lownie describes "Entitled" as a book about financial corruption by a senior royal.

A few of the papers have reported they had a falling out around the time of him originally stopping using his titles. Which definitely would be an interesting story to hear if the falling out was "FFS you're being ridiculous, stop using the titles and move house before" or "wtf do you mean you're not going to use your DOY title anymore?"

eggandonion · 05/11/2025 13:35

Thanks I hadn't seen the thread. We only saw it by accident and it was fascinating.
