I’m not sure what to think tbh. On one hand they must be so so mortified; on the other they enjoy all the perks of Royalty and their position in the RF despite their revolting father.

How do you see it?

I'm sure it's not only me, but I really couldn't give a toss what will happen to these over-privileged money grabbing non-entity's.
Bigger things happening in this world to be bothered about a squabbling family.

For the vast majority of the time, he is!

Would you rather he was locked away until he was 18 and then dropped in the deep end?

I would rather the children weren't paraded about and made to sit through tedious things.

I would rather the whole sorry lot just left and closed the door behind them.

What came out about Diana???

That the firm found a 19 old virgin who then developed an eating disorder?

That's a start?

So 19 year old virgins should be avoided lest they develop an eating disorder?

I really think this is disastrous for the royal family on a deeper level than all the other crises they've had because as pps have just said, it is so obvious that they consider themselves above the law.

I agree and there's a lot of media saying the same

Yes, even the sainted Anne who has picked up lots of speeding fines. Not speeding is for the plebs evidently.

I think its actually worse than that, because of course they think they are above the law. They were born thinking they were above the law. The worst thing about the whole setup is the collusion of Parliament in that belief. A body that is supposed to have protected us from the excesses of Monarchy has just let them do what they like and has decided they aren't going to scrutinise them at all.

Not sainted. She is admired but I remember when people were quite down on her when she was young.

No doubt she paid her speeding fines.

I don’t disagree with that, but what’s its relevance to the Andrew/Virginia case?

I don’t think that’s a fair comment.

She’s hardly “sainted”! She got a lot of criticism when younger for her brusque manner. She was also in the firing line for her affair with Tim Laurence. When she was caught speeding and prosecuted over her dogs, she held her hands up and accepted it. I’m sure a way could have been found to weasel her way out of it because of who she was but she didn’t do that.

think she has mellowed and she has won deserved respect because she works hard and just gets on with it without complaint.

Referring to her as “sainted” is really bitchy and unnecessary and says more about you! Plenty of “plebs” speed!. I try not to but I have and you’re either a nervous driver or a liar if you say you have never done it!

It was a somewhat circuitous route but the gist is the "Palace" doesn't seem to have learnt and moved on.
They think the public are daft and feed them a line. Behind the scenes there are all sorts of things going on.

The hundreds of pieces of legislation they demand and get exemptions from before they even go through the Parliamentary process, and then because Parliament choose not to debate the Royals the legislation just gets passed with clauses exempting the Royals with no debate or discussion. Then when the press occasionally queries it they say 'we comply with the law" well of course they do because the law exempt them from having to follow it. If they didnt think they deserved to be above the law they wouldnt use their position to be above it. For a start. Does Anne even see her speeding fines? Did Andrew see the bill for the gates he rammed?

Blosheen · 24/10/2025 11:44

During Covid Beatrice actually participated in an online panel at Virgin Media O2 talking about women in tech. I remember thinking why the fuck has she even been invited. Word salads is an understatement.

Agree that the belief that the European monarchies are simpler and more down to earth is a myth. They have multiple palaces and grand residences, lots of glittering tiara occasions and ample family and financial scandals.

I'm utterly staggered that here in the 21st century anywhere in Europe puts up with this nonsense.

One family having so much privilege, and dragging along behind them scandals and wrongdoing, yet the populace as a whole generally just accept it.

We're collectively pathetic on this issue.

When you say 'lots of speeding fines' do you mean 'some'? Are you exaggerating? If there were lots of speeding fines please give us some details of how many 'lots' means. 200? 64?

If you did a survey of how many of us plebs have picked up speeding fines you might be surprised to know that they're not restricted to the toffs in their big cars.

I'd be more interested to know the percentage of plebs who've been hauled into court when their unrestrained mutts have bitten kids.

I doubt many of us whizzing along a dual carriageway at 93mph try to get out of it by saying we thought the blue lights were a police escort! 😂😂😂😂

Well there’s nothing more complicit in being involved in the negotiations and execution of the News Night interview - unless you are suggesting that this was a cunning plan to actually expose her father, the multiple rapist of a vulnerable sex trafficked teenager, in order to give credence to his victims claims?

I assume that she believed in his innocence and genuinely believed he could clear his name. I can’t see any other rationale?

I know Anne was photographed at court. As the Princess Royal of the UK, perhaps she didn’t hoke her dogeared Coutts cheque book out of the deepest recesses of her cavernous handbag and write a cheque on the spot? Or maybe she did, who knows? Does it matter so long as it was paid?

think you’re exaggerating the legislation tbh. How would you even know?

She must have taken tips from her cousin’s wife. She’s the expert!

Though ‘word salad’ ie bullshit is common in the workplace, TLAs and made up terminology. God knows I hear enough of it! Everyone else had ‘hybrid’; we got ‘agile working 🙄 I’m fucking 62. I am not agile.

I did scratch my head when DH told me that a colleague in a meeting said she had a “hard stop at 4”. Why couldn’t she just say she needed to leave no later than 4?! Maybe I am just old but I like plain English.

Maybe Beatrice wasn’t that out of sync.

Have you ever had a police escort?

Remember Anne as a young woman was the victim of a carjacking and attempted kidnapping! People were shot!

Maybe she had more reason than any of us to be wary?
