Is As ever all over? Starting to feel like it.

It’s been 14 hours since the launch of the 2024 Rose. Nothing has sold out. This is despite it being designed again as a scarcity drop, so it can’t be argued she’s finally got her stock levels right.

• As ever stated the wine launch going ‘live’ at on the 5th August. Language designed to get you to rush and buy. Just like all this SM shopping you get now.
• Meghan put out a message many hours ago, stating that they have so much more stock (sad clapback to stuff not shifting) but hurry and be quick because it’s selling fast!!! (It’s clearly not)
• This launch however, has attracted very little press compared to previous drops

The scarcity gimmick is already tired and because she’s been absent from SM for 2 months…save for a few stock images/videos- she’s lost any momentum she had. She’s putting in bare minimum and her customer base feel it. She’s checked out.

There’s been talk of another series of WLM 3 and Meg getting a new NF contract, but I think that is just to fill the void until she can get WLM2 out. At which point, we will find out if there is any truth in any further deals.

The reason why I doubt WLM3, is that for continuity, you would need the same venue. But the home is now being used to to host weddings etc, it’s no longer a private rental but one open to the public to rent. There’s no way Meg would film in that location now. In addition she would need to have gotten the go ahead already for WLM3 and be filming right now to be able to stick to a schedule. The fact that it isn’t already confirmed, it’s giving the signal that WLM is over (in addition to knowing NF deal is done)

Now if WLM is over, I don’t think she has the draw to pull people to As ever. She doesn’t engage with her fan base enough, she does the bare minimum of SM posts, which she hasn’t even achieved the last few months. The Shopmy page is dead too. This is why the new wine launch has barely registered and hasn’t sold out 14 hours later. Yes, there will be more stock but it’s been designed for a sell out so there won’t be huge numbers.

As ever I think will be slowly wound down. There will be WLM2, with maybe another 18 months of drops. Then like everything else, it will be dropped quietly. Everyone is starting to get a bit bored by the half hearted, very beige effort she’s put into her ‘business’ and have tuned out.

She will have to launch yet another version of herself very soon. We’ve had actress, feminist, activist, producer, philanthropist….now female founder. God knows what’s next!

That sort of facility will always need to advertise - and that's purely what Meghan's IG post was. An advertisement.

Harry gets the photo that you rarely get on actual surf unless you're a brilliant surfer or lucky as hell. The wave pool gets to say a British Prince uses them. And Meghan will get whatever influencers get from an advert. Purely transactional.

I think this is just appalling. He has hit rock bottom for me. How can he go on and on about how his mother was hounded to death by the media trying to invade her privacy at every turn, and then just tip out everything he can recall about her to be picked over by the media? And doubtless we'll get more of his utterly ridiculous 'my mother was basically murdered' nonsense.

I've always felt a bit sorry for him, he's clearly damaged and very, very weak-minded, but this is unforgivable hypocrisy and must be so hurtful to the wider family, including the Spencers. What a revolting individual.

And Netflix will want their pound of flesh, the sordid details, they won't want another run of the mill Saint Diana programme. They will want the Charles and Camilla affair, Diana's affairs, the breakdown of the marriage, his mothers documentary and how it impacted her kids. The lurid inside scoop is the only thing that will differentiate it and be valuable.

Yes I do see that happening. Two years from now (almost to the day actually) is the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. The perfect opportunity for H to make some money, have a little pity party for himself and have another go at his family. I don’t know if the same number of people will watch it as the H and M documentary.

I wonder if it really would be the best thing for his mental health to revisit all of this. It would certainly completely sever any relationship he hopes to have with the RF especially William.

It may have been a Netflix hard line in negotiations, as in "you can have your first look deal as long as you include a Diana documentary".

We may have seen the Oprah interview coming - though not necessarily what what was said - when she turned up to the wedding, but I was another who hoped they'd have more to offer than what they've actually done

I do think - observation , no facts - sorry , that Diana isn't the "draw" she once once was Not to say that a young woman who died before her time isn't very sad , of course it was. But I think , apart from die hard fans , there won't be much appetite for a hagiography ( which I suspect is what Harry's would be - don't know. ) But I think if he were to make a programme for money without including his brother's opinions , who I think would never give them , then I agree with @Mylovelygreendress that Harry can whistle for reconciling with his brother. I hope he would not be so crass as to make such a documentary , but he's been crass before so who knows. I do think he needs to stop trading on "his mother's son" . EG when he criticised / weakly joked about John Travolta for dining out on having danced with Diana . Take the beam out of your own eye Harry ....

I don’t believe another documentary about Diana will be popular with those who were old enough to remember her and to have seen countless retellings of her story. Personal I think her memory needs to be laid to rest. I can only imagine there be some curiously about her from younger generations. My DD isn’t interested in the RF but was really excited to go see Diana’s wedding dress at KP and was disappointed there wasn’t more of her dresses at the Dress Codes exhibition. I am not sure, though, how much that age group watch documentaries about historical figures, because that’s what Diana is now.

Harry was scathing about Paul Burrell’s book in Spare “one man’s self-centering, self-justifying version of events…he was milking her disappearance for money. It made my blood boil”.

He also talked about how journalists asking him about his mother was, to him, was still hounding her after her death, and later about how both he and William disbelieved the results of the official inquest, and wanted it re-opened (blaming the photographers, not their grandfather, thankfully).

That’s a bit to grapple with if Harry himself then wants to produce a programme about his mother for money.

Potentially but he will have to make it up because there’s a limit to what a 12 year old child knows about their parents’ relationship.
